The fact that he never got his 7 ninja swords / swordsmen reunited was heartbreaking. Completely wasted potential. His brother also, could've been one of the coolest characters in the manga.

I agree out of Team Taka he seemed to have the most potiential.

I'd take a Taka / Suigetsu spin-off or novel for sure. The Hozukis are the coolest and most underrepped clan in the series.

They got a whole arc! And then...nothing else of significance.

Honestly with the Sound village they should've just swapped out Suigetsu for Sakon/Ukon, fused Tayuya and Karin and Jugo with Jirobo and had the survive their Part 1 battles. That way Sasuke can recruit some characters we actually know and can be relevant. Plus the Sound 4 (same age as Naruto and Sasuke) had serious plot and power potential.

Sound village as a whole got shafted, not just Suigetsu.

Alliance are definitely dead without the Hokage/Taka inclusion. Sasuke's dead thanks to no Karin, no Hashirama to distract Edo Madara, no Minato/Hiruzen combos, Naruto gets murdered by the Shinjuu bc Hiruzen doesn't save him...Even Taka & Oro VS Spiral Zetsu was effectual.

it's not that i don't see how it mattered to the alliance's efforts, it's that i don't see how Suigetsu finding that scroll stopped Madara. If anything, that scroll probably helped him more than it helped the alliance.
