it's not that i don't see how it mattered to the alliance's efforts, it's that i don't see how Suigetsu finding that scroll stopped Madara. If anything, that scroll probably helped him more than it helped the alliance.

Well Naruto and Sasuke would've remained dead and couldn't have put things right for one. The IT gets cast and that's the end.
