Easy if I can convince strong people to fight for me I could be pirate King. Here me out if I can get powerful guys to be my subordinates and be completely loyal to me i could ascend to the top hypothetically speaking if buggy got 5 admiral level fighters to follow him no matter what that would put him in position to be pirate King. Although it is unlikely I'm just giving you a scenario where someone like buggy could become pirate King. Luffy will be pirate King with only 2 guys besides himself who could beat admirals.

The problem is that Zoro said you can't disrespect the captain's authority ON ANY LEVEL and then he went ahead and did just that.

They hit Luffy, but they don't challenge his authority.

How does this change that Loj said Usopp can't protect the crew despite the manga showing Usopp saving the captain's life?

Simply yelling isn't challenging Luffy's authority. Zoro yelling at Luffy all the time doesn't matter. What does matter is the time he blatantly tried to command Luffy.

If disrespecting Luffy's authority means you can't be vice captain, then neither can Zoro. The point is the hypocrisy of the argument against Usopp.
