I think Hinata would've fit better than the pink haired girl because the manga/anime is based on doujutsu & strong bodies. The pink haired girl has neither. Hinata with her Byaku would've faired better because we needed more of the Hyuga's back story than we did A copy paste of the Hokage who really did no-thing but cry an beat up the guy who protected her most..

Lady Hinata deserved that main female spot in my oppinion.

She should have been killed off in part I in the most exquisitely brutal way imaginable. At least, that could have been more enjoyable than her vocabulary of twenty words, out of which two spots are taken by Naruto and Kun.

Yeah, I know that. That's why I'm talking in initial terms, if Hinata in terms of her character premise has more potential than Sakura as lead.

Kishi should've killed Sakura at the end of part 1, that way people wouldn't have hated her as much as they do now after being disappointed over her repeated failures in Part 2. After selecting Sakura as main character in Part 1 Kishi simply didn't know what to do with Sakura who had almost no talent other than being a bookworm and that's why he sucked so bad at developing her in part 2.
Hinata on the other hand was a hyuga with their own unique taijutsu style and dojustsu. She'd have made a much better MC than Sakura, she already had superior chakra control plus under Tsunade she would've made a better Medical Ninja with her baykugan to aid. Hyuga's can release chakra throughout their body so Hinata could've taken CES to a whole other level. She woould've been a complete beast with with byakugou, super strength combined with gentle fist technique and later on with Rikudou chakra upgrade which would've brought her almost on par with Naruto and Sasuke justifying the name and power of the three Sanins.

Sakura started out as a stock tsundere character, but over the years she matured a bit as a character. Part of her problem as a character was her massive inferiority complex that took her the entire length of the combined series to overcome. Both consciously & unconsciously, her primary means of interaction with most other characters, especially Naruto, was through manipulation. As mentioned in a previous post some months ago, Naruto & Sakura would have never had a stable relationship except through Disney logic.

Fact Hinata was the First female character created for the series,She was created right after Naruto. Fact Sakura was the last female created. She was created right after Sasuke. Study the history of Naruto the series and you would have known that.

Yes and no. From a background standpoint (being Hyuga and a direct descendant of Hamura) her lineage is more relevant than Sakura. In that terms she had more potential than Sakura.

But everything else falls short. Personality wise she is ok but I'm not a fan of the whole overly she female types and Hinata took this to the extreme. So much so that we couldn't even get any good pacing of romance from her and Naruto and it had to be retkon in a movie to make up for it.

Sakura at least had the strong female personality going for her(at least by part II)
she's one of the top 3 medical ninja
She can summon
She has a Fuuinjutsu (Byakugou)
She at least tries even when the boys aren't around and doesn't Hesitate to act once Sasuke or Naruto gets injured

But if they hadn't waited so long to give Hinata more relevance rather than sticking her lineage into a movie after the manga ended yeah she would have had way more potential to be the female role over Sakura.
