Minato didn't have to seal the Nine-Tailed Fox in Naruto, doing so anyway made him a worse person than Itachi. Do you even listen to yourself? What would have happened if Itachi did not kill his clan, and Minato would not have sealed the fox inside Naruto? Disaster would have exploded otherwise, but both tried to prevent it from resurfacing by placing their trust into the ones they loved, hoping they would be able to put an end to all this chaos.
You tell him he is biased towards Itachi, well I can clearly see you have a bias towards Minato as well; so don't attack him for something you are doing as well. Itachi did everything he could to stop Sasuke from turning to Madara, but he was unsuccessful. Minato did everything he could to give Naruto a normal childhood, but he was unsuccessful. As far as I'm concerned, both have their list of failures. Itachi failed to kill Madara, and Minato failed to kill Madara. There are more, but this is just to give people an idea that these two figures were nowhere near having their expectations fulfilled.

These are all things that Minato and Itachi attempted to do or wanted to happen, but unfortunately it didn't. I'm not going to say who is "greater," but it should be to clear to everyone that both failed at points in their life, and now hope that the ones surpassing them will be able to correct their previous mistakes.
