Win you mean, because they did lead at half time against Iceland xd... Sorry I couldn't resist XD
Oh, thanks. My bad. Forgot about that one thing. But yes, a team like Portugal should so a lot better and win games in regular play time. A few years ago, I liked to think that Portugal was Europe's "Little Brazil" with their famous players like Deco, Figo, Ronaldo, Nani, Quaresma, Pepe etc. But they do not use their potential.

When I wrote my salty post, I completely forgot about the scene with Pepe and his two daughters after the game. That was the highlight of the evening, much more interesting than the game itself. It definitely surprised me that such a hothead like Pepe could be a caring, loving father who enjoys to play around with his girls on the field after a match.

Those were the days huh :p

Not surprising at all for me, but then again, I've been watching Real Madrid play for the last 13 or so years so I know what's to know about the players mostly, and I've seen that before. Playing football is like being on stage, you're prepping for war so you have to bring out everything you got xd On the home turf, it's usually quite different, even for Pepe xP

Football isn't meant to be beautifully played for your entertainment, they are professional players not entertainers. The winner wins and the loser goes home. I don't care if they play like shit, as long as they come up on top, that's good enough for me. Also, this match would be more satisfying if Penaldo hit the ball on 2 separate occasions.
"Kill-the-clock football" is boring to everyone, not just to the fans. And after all, football is just a game, so fun should be an very important factor. No one really appreciates a win if the team played absolutely terrible and didn't deserve it. Portugal has so many superstar-players, yet they can't use them effectively. It's a shame.

Look at Germany vs. Brazil 2014. Germany had a lot of fun, that's why they dismantled Brazil with 7:1. You instantly play better when you enjoy what you do.

These things always remind me why I do not watch football (except Euro- and Worldcup) and why I left the football-team of my village years ago. People start to take it too serious and kill the game with boringness.

Disagree completely. I'm highly satisfied and im pretty sure all of the portuguese people are as well atm. A win is a win and football isn't fair. You lose some and you win some whatever circumstances.

Okay, let me correct myself:

"No one with a sense for fair-play and sportsmanship appreciates a win if the team played absolutely terrible and didn't deserve it."

Depends on what you define as fair-play xd Not going to take any sides here, but from one angle, Atletico Madrid's style of play is super boring and super frustrating and they're destroying football with their defensiveness, but on the other side, Simeone is regarded as a genius and the Atletico fans love it. They do what they must to be able to compete with the bigger guns, and rather than going all out and try to play offensive, getting smashed by the likes of Barca, Real and Bayern, they play their own defensive style which grants them the ability and option to compete with the bigger teams.

As much as I hate them for it as a Real Madrid fan, I can't avoid giving them props for beating both Barca and Bayern on their way to the Champions League Final and almost beating Real Madrid there as well. That is why I feel Portugal can relate to them since they don't fully park their bus with 11 men inside their own penalty area as the likes of Inter in 2010 under Mourinho or Chelsea in 2012.

So here I have to agree with that other guy, but for the "neutral" fans that just wants a game with lots of goals and intensity, it can sure be frustrating to watch.

If you couldnt holds the ball too long/other team(Barca, RM) have superior team ball control sure you will need to defend your dangerous zone the best possible.

In CL final this season I saw ATM played better football than RM. Attacking and defending.

Coming from Barca fan here.

Well they played before in the qualifiers for this Euro, and Wales came up on top,
TBH The Belgian is fortunate to have Courtois as their keeper instead of super MIGNOLET, they really missed Kompany in the defense.

Well i dont blame you... casual like you wouldn't understand the beauty of the game.
Imagine if he had to sit through a Atletico match when they have taken lead after 10 mins
