I think Mihawk and Akainu are in the same tier but he would win in a fight. In the story though Akainu would win because of plot-shield, just like Blackbeard probably will against Dragon.

Yeah, Akainu is strong but Mihawk is the worlds strongest swordsman and he displayed better feats than Akainu in the war like cutting iceberg casually.

Mihawk could do it, Akainu didn't kill Whitebeard, he survived Whitebeard.

If they have some really good teamwork they win high diff, else Akainu wins extreme diff, Doffy's showing against Aokiji suggests that he won't be too much of a problem for Akainu.

What did doffy show against akoiji
That he can break out of his ice only something whitebeard showed? Or the fact that he was looking for luffy and law, yet ppl r stupid and say he ran away?
Now I know akoiji is without a doubt stronger then doffy but ppl act as if doffy is scared of admirals when he said complete opposite in reguards to kaido

I also hate how ppl forget that black beard legit ran away with his entire crew from akainu (in Bonney situation) .. Yet ppl ignore this and often put black bears above akainu and some of the other yonko..

After the blow from their second encounter, WB was killed by some rookies and criminals with basic weapons and casual attacks.

After the blow from their second encounter, Akainu went on to fight all but two of WB's commanders and dozens of their allies, all seasoned and experienced New World fighters, a few which clashed with Admirals and Yonko-level fighters. And he left that fight without another injury.

So, and just for complete clarity, you're telling me that Akainu is inferior to Teach's rookies and cronies and their basic attacks, as they did what you're saying Akainu would fail at doing, i.e., kill WB in the timespan following the blow that blew out the ground in that second encounter? You're telling me Teach and his measly, ragtag crew at MF, could kill all but two of WB's commanders and dozens of seasoned pirates using basic, freeform attacks?

They should be able to beat Akainu mid-diff.

LOL you do realize sword is most common weapon with pistol on pirates?

Same thing could be said for Shanks lol we never seen him fight yet he is already weaker cause he pulled the most common weapon as pirate few times...honestly...

Him being stronger than Shanks, isn't really a big thing..Neither is the possibility of Kaido/Akainu/Big Mom/Kizaru/Aokiji/Fujitora losing to Mihawk a big thing.. and vice-versa. There are reasons for people to think that he is stronger than them, just like there are reasons to think hes not.

And there are usually from what i've seen more people claiming Shanks can beat Mihawk, rather than vice-versa. Same for Akainu vs Mihawk, more people will go for Akainu.

Compare the number of instances where we've seen Shanks reach for his sword, and compare it to the number of instances with Roger doing the same. Then compare the circumstances. Now take into consideration the fact that Shanks and Mihawk had legendary duels with each other. Who seems more like a swordsman? Don't be daft.

In my personal opinion, hes just under Kaido. (maybe even stronger, but leaning towards under). But can i truly back it up? nope, because all of these characters lack showcasing, and a even comparison in the manga.

Mihawk became the world's strongest swordsman easily a good 10+ years after Roger's death. So roger using a sword against Mihawk, wouldn't give Mihawk the win, due to the sheer fact that Roger isn't under Mihawk's title. Those under Mihawk's title are swordsman who were/are alive during his reign at the top.
