In X-Men Worlds Apart, Storm controlled the very air in a man's lungs, not allowing him to breathe. Just to quote her, "You breathe when I allow it! The air in your lungs obeys my every whim. You would be wise to do the same.

For example Storm has shown that she can tap into other forms of energy and warp them to her will, e.i. cosmic turbulence, gathered energy from the galactic core, created a world wide cosmic turbulence to block solar flares and created solar winds.
