Downplaying my Ninja again. Sasuke was on the biggest mission in history, doing things only he can do, which is why Naruto said he was the Greatest Shinobi. He's been out there on a secret mission to protect Konoha, & the whole world.
Where exactly was the downplay? Naruto said, "finest shinobi around", not the "greatest shinobi." I'll drop the VIZ if you want.
His mission literally didn't start until the Movie. I mean what was Sasuke actually doing in these past 10 years while he was gone? Absolutely noting (Mind you this is post-Gokage meeting with Sasue). Who was he protecting? Absolutely no one. Let me give you the cold, hard truth. No where does it state:
>Sasuke was fighting anyone
>Sasuke was setting up defenses anywhere
>Sasuke was gaining information anywhere
In the Movie, Sasuke
finally meets the threats he hypothesizes, which mind you, no one knew they existed (even Sasuke) until that day. He finally received the scroll from the castle, and then he returned home to give Naruto the scroll because he couldn't decrypt it on his own.
Despite this, they couldn't stop Momoshiki and Kinshiki from targeting Naruto and capturing him. Not to mention Killer Bee was attacked.
So don't force this mission crap on me bro. Kishimoto portrayed it wrong. In the past years Sasuke was traveling Kaguya's dimensions trying to search for clues on them and didn't find anything until the Movie started. All these years were wasted because Kishimoto couldn't write a good plot story and ruined a large part of his character when it came to his family. Sadly the Movie doesn't even talk about his mission other than what he found recently. Can you believe that shit :lol
Though don't twist "downplay" with the "truth" -- There's a big difference there. I didn't say Sasuke was a bad shinobi at all, in fact I think he's the best shinobi right now.
