Gohan is more impressive because he could keep up with adults since he was five while goten and trunks needed fusion at 8yrs

If gohan took his training seriously he would eclipse goku.

Well he was born with high potential unlike Goten and Trunks but his Zenkai should have been way better. How Vegeta nearly quadrupled in Namek Saga and Gohan barely increasing is beyond me....

Vegeta was literally nearly on par with Frieza and then able to track Final Form 2% Frieza when saving Gohan. Gohan barely got a good Zenkai but his rage potential thing is somehow a bigger gap. That's how he was pummeling Frieza second form.

Biologically he should be 10. Physically, he's nearly 11 since he didn't do the full year with Goku. That's why Manga said he was 16 it probably wasn't his birthday yet considering that the Martial Arts didn't happen and maybe his birthday was after Buu was defeated.

It wasn't confirmed in the anime or manga that Vegeta was already a Super Saiyan at the time of Trunks' conception. That's sheer fan speculation, right there along with Mystic Gohan can't go Super Saiyan. Never stated.

This. The teen gohan has always killed me. Showing how powerful a 9 year old Gohan was is key, because Trunks and Goten were around that age. It's great writing to show those parallels

Future Trunks and present Kid Trunks were conceived at the same time and born on the same day. Yet there is a huge discrepency in their power levels.

Future Trunks became a SSJ at 14, after years of training with Gohan and fighting the androids.

Present Kid Trunks got SSJ at age 8, with very little training or supervision from Vegeta. Also a "supressed" charged ki blast was enough to making #18 start sweating.


So yeah, Trunks and Goten are powered by plot. It's hilarious, because on DB Super and the movies that lead up to it, Goten and Trunks' power levels have either decreased or been scaled back by the writers. To the point that they are stated to be around 1st form Frieza level.
