OOC: Hmm, I think that would be an issue as well. As you can imagine, the shuriken are circling towards you, aiming to reach your flank (Behind you, near your rib-cage areas) so it wouldn't be wise to tend to those projectiles first, before dealing with the straight forward kunai which would take less time to reach you. Not only that but you'd have to turn your body around in order to reach the flanking shuriken if you wanted to deflect it at meele range. Which I assume you mean, you are doing it while holding the kunai in your hand?

These are nice things to consider when writing up your move. Like I mentioned before, the more you describe about your body motions or actions, the easier is going to be for the opponent to understand them and also not take advantage of them. For example in your move, you did not specify which hand you created the shield on. I assume it was your dominant one, but I don't know which one that is. And therefore by saying you use your free hand to reach for the kunai, it also means I wouldn't know which hand that was either. Obviously I would know, if I pretended to know which hand the shield was made by. But, depending on the situation the target can even take advantage of that as well to benefit him in battle.

Key Facts:

Body Motion/Description: Where is your body stationed, what is your stance, are you standing or are you crouched? Are you slightly bent, or are you completely prone on the ground? Are your hands free? Do you have any weapons on your person? These are things that should be described at the start of a battle. If you are using weapons, you need to specify which limbs you use. Left hand, right hand, mouth? Etc. If you are running, describe how you are running and where you are aiming to go.

Time-Frame: Always take this into account, it is a very important aspect of battles, in fact its the most important to have correct battles. Mainly logic and common sense have to be applied when deciphering the time-frame. But its not as complex as you may think, so you need to simply re-read the moves and break them down. Write things mentally or on a piece of paper. What was released first? What was released second? How fast were they?

Example; A Senbon naturally travels faster than a kunai or a shuriken. So if I released both a Senbon and a Kunai, the needle would reach you first, before the kunai even though I launched them at the same time.

In the case of my move, I released all projectiles at the same time and because the shuriken were on wide arcs from the sides, aiming to reach your flank (behind) they would naturally take a longer time to reach you than my two straight forward kunais. This means that when you break down my move, you know you have to take care of the straight forward kunais first, or find a way to take care of all of them at once.

Please re-do the exercise and defend from my move once again while trying to apply everything I've noted here.

OOC: Okay, so this is what I am doing on my move. I felt like demonstration it to you through visual representation. (Ignore my awful artistic skill xD)

Your new move confuses me a little bit. You reached for two kunais of your own and then launched them to intercept my two kunais. The one that had the explosive tag was deflected and you say the explosion's shockwave would knock the shuriken off course. Though you mention both right and left one I believe? They are too far away to be in the reach reach of the shockwave. I believe you've got something going on there though. What you could describe is having the explosively tagged kunai intercepted in a way that would allow it to bounce away towards one of the incoming shuriken, thus allowing the explosion to get hear them.

So that's good, you took out the frontal projectiles which was the main concern or at least the first and foremost. Then you created your shield of water to fend of a shuriken again, which threw me off. Did you use the shockwave to knock only one shuriken or both? (Tried to) drawing from the end of your move, it seems like you tried to knock away only one. But these are things that need to be clarified a bit more. As for your hands, I still don't know which ones you are using. Please describe, next time which hands you are using.

We've been doing this for quite a bit so we will move on and continue in another battle exercise later on. Do you have any questions? And also please let if you can, answer some of the questions I've asked regarding your description, thank you!

When something explodes, it releases a supersonic current of air in all directions. That is the shockwave. Also, I only refer to one shuriken towards the end, not both. OOC: Explosion tags don't have such potency in our roleplay, at least not from a single tag. Thats why I suggested that if you wanted to knock one out, it would have to be one, but not both because they are really far apart from each other. Meaning, the exploding kunai would have to be deflected closer to one of the shuriken. Which, it almost looks like you did? Because you used the water to defend against the other. Anywho, you still haven't told me the hands you are using!!!! xD

Before we move onto one of my favorite water techniques in existence, we are going to study another technique. By using shape manipulation, you will either materialize a source of water in your desired hand and shape it to form a normal sword. The shape of the blade can be up to you, so long as the size is normal and nothing too crazy as its a basic technique and not a lot of detail can be put into it. The limit of the technique is not only to create it through that method. It has similar applications to the basic water technique you learned in the sense that an external source of water near you can also be used, or you can spew the source from your mouth to shape manipulate it. By condensing the blade portion and giving it an edge, it will allow you cut people normally just like you would with a normal sword.

After performing the technique in a detailed manner, I want you to note anything specific about the technique that you like or may dislike. Can you tell me what are the draw-backs of using this technique as opposed to using a regular sword? Or perhaps the benefits.

OOC: Hmm really? I didn't see the description, not clearly anyways. The mentioning of the explosive tag on your own kunai is best to be stated when you reach for said kunai, so the person is ware that it has one. And yes, you're correct about my preference to the mist!

Good, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Although the technique cuts just like another sword, the drawback is that focus needs to be maintained to keep it's form. Not only that but you'd be unable to perform other ninja techniques. Also, you'd be vulnerable to lighting attacks because you'd be holding water in your hand. A notable advantage is that you'd be able to create a weapon if you didn't have one on your person, or if it was lost in battle. Since it requires no hand seals, the creation can be used as a surprise as well. There is nothing much to go on as this is a very basic technique and you performed it correctly and noted what I was looking for. We will move onto the last technique of this tier, and as I said, my favorite one.

Description: This displacement technique creates a thick mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

The Hidden Mist jutsu is Kirigakure's signature technique, the foundation to all assassinations. This technique can be performed through two ways; either by manipulating a pre-existing source of water like a river, lake, ocean or something similar. Lingering water from a large water technique, or released from your mouth. The drawbacks from drawing it from a technique is that it's dependent on the volume of water, meaning you'd need quite a lot of water scattered. Common sense should be used as you can not expect a golf sized orb of water to be enough to create a battle-field based mist. Please perform it, and break this technique down for me, I want you to describe everything you can think of about it.

OOC: In order to perform the technique you'd have to separate the molecules not condense them together. A liquid is formed when the molecules are condensed, and a gaseous state is achieved when they are spread further apart. I don't think the basic water application being used a few times would be enough to cover the entire field. And its also vague to specify a few times, it would have been best to release it from your mouth. Please go back and read my post so that you may include facts and tear apart the technique in it's capabilities. I want to see your thoughts on the technique overall, taking your time to walk through it, and describe everything you can. Try to go as much in depth as you can, mentioning whatever you can.

OOC: "My science doesnt science." I didn't understand that part. As for your description, I have to point out that, that's not how its created. You don't manipulate the air or anything of the sort and the molecules aren't thickened. You release a stream of mist already in it's finished form from your mouth and have it spread outwards. The drawback is that you release it from your mouth, so you'd have to keep it active until it fully spreads throughout the terrain. As for my previous question, you didn't answer it regarding the break down of the technique. Not necessarily how it's created, but more of it's benefits in battle, abilities, advantages, disadvantages, etcetera.

Nice and simple. Just remember that if you plan on activating this technique without using a source of water that you have ample time to release the mist from your mouth. The reason being is because it wouldn't be instant and the foe would have the chance to counter or attack after you begin releasing and dispersing the mist. So try and avoid releasing it from the mouth unless you know it will succeed. Not only that but nine times out of ten, they will try to blow it away so set yourself up for a counter to wind style ninjutsu. Regarding the points you pointed about chakra sensing and such, you are correct. You'd also suffer the effects of the mist so it would be very hard to pin-point your target and even attacks. When inside a mist, you have to rely in your other senses, like the sound of gushing water, or the shaking/crumbling of the ground beneath you, or the roaring flames/light produced by fire release, etc. As we continue with training, you will be learning a technique that will allow you to sense chakra within the mist.

This marks the end for the D ranks. I now want you to perform a battle combination just as if you were fighting an opponent. I want you to try and use at least one or two water techniques that you've learned thus far to try and attack me. Be as creative as you can, try to avoid being so straight forward that I'd be able to defend easily. I'll be standing a long range distance from you. When you are ready, you may begin.
