I tried to find it but it's in a very obsure chapter. The quote sticks out in my mind but there's no debut characters, places, or Jutsus. But I'm pretty sure it's after Sasuke fails at capturing Killer B and Taka goes off to attack Konoha. They're in the forest but Tobi finds and confronts them, saying his work with Akatsuki isn't over. Sasuke tries to kill him but he just phases through him. Then he says the quote. After that he directs Taka to the Kage Summit.

In my opinion, Kakashi faced it like 10+ times and was able to deduce that but honestly the person who analyzed it best and only encountered it once was Shino.

Wut? Kakashi only encountered kamui 3 times in total while sakura encountered it twice. Kakashi fully analyzed it on the 3rd encounter. Sakura did nothing that kakashi couldn't do, likewise shino did nothing fuu and torune didn't do.

I know. The point was that, while Sasuke is probably smarter, the gap isn't as wide as one might think.

The thing is people here value battle smarts to the book smarts, sasuke has come up with better tactics and strategies than sakura, this is why the gap is considered wide.

I remember that. That was the first time Sasuke experience Kamui since the Deidara fight, but back then he didn't give it any thought. He was completely bewildered when his Chidori phased through Tobi and was wondering what was going on.

Intelligence is a subjective thing in any case. Orochimaru could be considered the smartest character due to creating a whole new dimension. Or Itachi for his philosophies. Or Shikamaru for his strategies. Some may consider the gap between Sasuke and Sakura to be wide, but it is in only one aspect of intelligence.

I can agree with feats but not naruto's words. Naruto is a known sakura fanboy and a fanboy of team 7 in general. He makes statements without thinking or gathering any accurate data, an example of this is his claim that kakashi has a better nose than kiba. Clearly he likes to hype up his teammates and those he is close to or likes in some way.

People holding battle smarts with more value than book smarts is just a baseless opinion. I could easily say part one Temari is smarter than Orochimaru because Oro's shown no battle smarts compared to what Temari showed in her fight with Shikamaru but that would be fallacious because:

1. Battle strategy is only one aspect of intelligence.
2. Oro didn't get many strategical feats but that doesn't mean he isn't capable of making complex strategies in combat.
