Welcome to hell, more or less. Before we begin your Doton training let's find out what you know. Tell me all you know about earth release. Include its uses, forms, elemental strengths and weaknesses, related Kekkei Genkai, and possible results when mixed with other elements such as Fire.

He eventually explain what he knows about Earth Release.



Earth Release is a technique that allows an individual to manipulate and control the surrounding earth for offensive and defensive task.

Uses:
Earth Release is mainly use for perform Offensive and Defensive purposes by manipulating the earth crust.

Elemental Strengths:
Earth is strong against water, considering Earth pratically contains and absorbs water to the point it turns to mud

Elemental Weakness:
When against Lightning, Earth release is weak considering Lightning can easily pass through Earth and breaks it apart.

Kekkei Genkai:
» Dust Release.
» Explosion Release.
» Magnet Release
» Lava Release.

When mixed with elements.
When Earth release is used in conjunction with other elements such as Fire, it forms Lava release which can be devasting when used in battle.

You are correct. Let me dig a little, expose the all-important roots. Earth as an element is typically associated with being tough, solid, resilient. True to its nature, Doton is ideal for defense, common techniques being walls and other structures made of earth. Its solidity makes it effective offensively as well, useful for crushing the enemy with hard rock or even stabbing them with earth shaped into sharp spikes. Even Earth isn't immune to physical change. Applying enough heat can cause Earth to melt into a burning lava-like substance, dampening it can create mud, erosion can dissolve it into sand and dust. Hmm...i think i've filled the gaps nicely. Now we can get to the actual training. Feel free to ask if you ever have a question for me.

Since you've never molded doton chakra before try acquiring a strong mental image of the nature of earth (a description of earth's characteristics) and mold a portion of your chakra to mimic that nature. When you've got the hang of it try channeling a small amount of doton chakra into the ground and manipulating the earth to raise three small pillars from the ground, each with a different shape.

After hearing this, Amon immediately gathered and molded his Doton chakra corresponding with Earth's characteristics. After comprehending it, He channels quite a small amount of his Doton chakra towards the ground and Manipulate the earth crust to raise three different Earth pillars with different shape.

Once again having understanding Earth characteristics specifically, with it being Tough, Solid, Resillient and great for defensive battles, Amon swiftly gathers his raw Chakra and use Nature transformation which transforms it into Doton-chakra.
Immediately he channels his Doton Chakra towards the earth crust with cautious intent and basically Manipulates the Earth crust, which in turn raises three different pillars of different shapes. One of the pillars, slightly has a rough shape, The other pillar is a little bit longer than the two precisely, 3 centimeters longer. While the last pillar isn't completely vertically as per the formers.

Much better. Now hold out your hand and raise a chunk of earth from the ground. Apply shape manipulation to it and form a staff you can use as a weapon. It is possible to throw it or even create multiple staffs but you'll only need one for now. Defend yourself and strike back.

*one of the Peins approaches you and throws a spinning kick to your side*

Okay I will accept that jutsu. Don't forget you can use multiple staffs. Now You''re going to get pissed but we're stopping with the techniques. Why????? Cuz I said so...no for real though. I used to have a template and I decided to explain all of that stuff before the jutsus so you don't have to fill out a template for every jutsu ahead. You will thank me later because you learn the same stuff but it is more efficient for the student and teacher as well. LOL Now lets start with basics. You already know earth's weaknesses, strengths, and drawbacks/counters element wise so it would be kinda of useless to constantly have you repeat "I can counter earth with lightning" don't you think. xD. Sticking on the subject of its element nature solely what can you combine earth jutsus with. I know you have said it can be mixed with fire to create lava earlier but what else can it be used with. Feel free to add any other info you consider relevant.

Wood Release is a combined nature transformation kekkei genkai made up of techniques that mix earth-based chakra in one hand and water-based chakra in the other to create wood as well as various plants, from simple seeds to even flowering trees.

I see you went the kekkai genkai route so you are correct but I meant more of what can earth jutsus be used with in battle. For example earth and fire jutsus can be used well together but also Earth and wind can be used together in certain cases. The wind can aid in the overall force of the earth jutsu. This would be ideal for chunks of rock or any earth hurled at the enemy. It would also help against lightning jutsus.

Next you will see a variety types of jutsu. I like to divide them in certain categories. If you can remember these categories it is my belief that you can discover the weakenesses and strengths of any jutsu by yourself. Of course I could directly tell you drawbacks and combinations of many earth jutsu but what about custom earth jutsus, custom elements, etc created by others? What about other classes who might have different training methods. As I said earlier apply these to any jutsu and see if you can discover their inner workings. Every jutsu has some aspect of these. You can even think about these as you create your own jutsu. Please read the following and think of any advantages and disadvantages of the different types. Include anything else you feel is worthy of noting. I will add anything important you miss or correct what you get wrong so don't worry about it.

Categories

Big Jutsu
: Attacks that encompass a large area or huge mass. These typically take longer to perform because the manipulation required will need some time. They sometimes can work against the user but the range and size of the attack is not to be trifled with. Many normal based attacks could almost fall in this category as well but I decided to separate them.

Streaming Jutsu: Streaming attacks require the user to constantly fuel the technique with chakra for it to be effective. Since you are constantly giving it chakra or constantly focusing on it then you are unable to perform other jutsus until you cancel it.

Source Jutsu(Earth): Since this is earth class I will focus on earth. Many earth jutsus require the ground as a source. Hence the name Source Jutsu.

Support Jutsu: Jutsu not used for offensive purposes. It can be used to boost other jutsu, or simply defend yourself or gain some type of advantage.

Omni Jutsu: Jutsu's in this class can attack the enemy from all around or it can be Omni directional in the sense that the jutsu is released from all around you.

Direct Jutsu: Jutsu that does not need to travel from your position to the enemy. It automatically attacks the enemy at their position.

Projectile Jutsu: Jutsu used here will be created from your position and sent toward the user. (This includes creating something on yourself and running to the enemy. Did that to simplify my list)

Now after this we will begin jutsus again. Don't forget jutsus can fit in more than one of these basic categories. I will include some examples in my next post.

Big Jutsu.
Advantages.
Big jutsu main advantage is the ability to cause extreme physical injuries against foes. Due to it size, opponent and target alike usually gets broken bones type of injuries and in a worst case scenario death.

Disadvantages.
Although Big jutsu could cause inflict extreme injuries once upon contact but, it's usually very slow to execute one and sometimes time consuming. Even when created. Enemy really don't have a hard time evaded it simply because, Big jutsu speed are mostly mediocre.

Streaming Jutsu.
Advantages.
Streaming jutsu are not easily evaded due to the requirement of continous fueling of chakra and sometimes it's speed. Even when performing streaming jutsu, the user can easily change their direction to suit their offensive attacks.

Disadvantages.
Since streaming jutsu requires constantly fueling of chakra, the user would be uncapable of perform any other jutsu at that point.

Source Jutsu.
Advantages.
Source jutsu most important advantage, is how versatile it is especially, on solid enviroment. (Earth)

Disadvantages.
At air medium, performing source jutsu becomes virtually impossible since earth source is needed.

Support Jutsu.
Advantages.
Support jutsu is most important on supplementary attack or boosting other technique, hence the name.

Disadvantages.
In this case, Support jutsu becomes irrelvant on offensive scenerio.

Omni jutsu.
Advantages.
The name says it all. Omin jutsu has a great advantage as it can attack from every direction against foes making it hard to defend.

Disadvantage.
Omni jutsu are easily predictable. The user would be able to comprehend it attacks at all direction. Thus knowing how to defend it.

Direct Jutsu.
Advantages.
Direct Jutsu doesn't need to travel on a medium, it automatically attacks the enemy at their position.

Disadvantages.
Direct jutsu could sometimes be at disadvantage, if the opponent can quickly sense it. Against sensors, this becomes futile and irrelevant.

Projectile jutsu has more techniques, simply because it is easy to perform, and also exibit great speed against foes.

I couldn't believe my sensei had made entered the colosseum. Although I knew he was trying to build me up in the ways of Doton release, but just as I had entered the collosseum, anxiety grip my body in such a cold manner. I then stare at the massive structures of the collosseum trying to ease my anxiety. While I look around, i notice a huge man coming at me. My heart pounded like, it was about to be ripped off my chest. Fortunately looking back at my senpai, I became confident and brave. I immediately face the huge man, and mold my doton chakra channeling it into my dominant arm. Afterwhich I created a series of rings made of rocks around my arm, and launch them towards the huge man.

I want you to take these techniques in and explain them to me different usages, counters, etc. A decent explanation.

Now I shall begin by molding my raw chakra throughout my body and then use Nature transformation, turning it into Doton chakra. I'll then continue and send my chakra towards the ground, whilst using Shape manipulation to formed three pillars neatly aligned. I'll also continue further and form swords as well as shields simultaneously.

On the next technique, I'll focus on my raw chakra and then use Nature transformation once again. Thus turning it into Doton chakra. While all this done, I would then transfer my chakra into a chunk of rock below and manipulate it to form a staff. I'll then grip the staff with my dominant hand, and slightly move my hand in a backward motion. Then I continue, moving my hand forward whilst propelling the staff with great precision, which knocks the dummy.

Countering/Usage:
In terms of countering, A simple lightning Jutsu can certainly destroy the shields, pillars, staff as well as the sword effortlessly. Furthermore, it is quite preferable to use both of this techniques when performing an offensive attack of some sort.

Alright lets start with C-Rank projectiles. First lets knock the performance out the way.

Release a chunk of rocks out of your mouth.

After doing that, release more chunks of rocks, this time add an advance shape to them (dragon heads, spikes, etc)

Lastly, I want you to rise a chunk of rock, in an advance shape, and release it to an opponent (self source creation).

All projectiles just done differently.

Just as I listened to my Senpai, I immediately heed to his words. Firstly, I mold my raw chakra and use Nature transformation which transforms my raw chakra into actual doton chakra. This enables me to release chunk of rocks from my mouth. Afterwards, I would continue to release chunk of rocks and then use shape manipulation, shaping the chunk of rocks into spikes. Finally, I would alter my body stance by widen my legs slightly and raise a chunk of rock from the earth crust below in an advance shape and release it towards the opposing target.

Now here are all the projectiles. Never forget, they are techniques that you perform once, and allow you to move on to another technique. So you don't need to focus on their usage, or control anything. They move in a specific path, way, or task until the deed is done.

(Doton: Ganchuso) - Earth Release: Stone Spikes

Description: This technique lets the user create a few rock pillars that will protrude from the ground to skew the target. The rock pillars will even pass through obstacles to reach their target if these are less dense. The pillars/spikes can be done in any earthen surface, including other earth techniques of the user.

Simple but effective technique indeed. You will focus doton chakra towards the ground where your opponent stand and quickly without the need of hand seals you will rise from the ground stone spikes which will pierce the opponent from every direction. They are rather large spikes in length and very sharp. Note before the spikes actually rise just like a lot of earth techniques you will easily feel the ground become more dense around you where you stand, so you can use that window to stop the jutsu or evade.


(Doton: Yochi no Douyou) - Earth Release: World Shaking

Description: The user will concentrate and release their chakra into the ground to create a small tremer that can result in making the enemies lose their footing and fall to ground or miss the aim of a given technique.

Okay I like this technique its great for combos. The user will channel doton chakra towards the ground around the area the opponent stands. With no hand seals the user will make the ground shake. It can force the opponent off balance and also fall over this can leave a window of attack open. You can also distract them from using specific attacks. Its a very quick jutsu to perform almost instant. Its a tough technique to counter one way would be that as the ground shakes you can send a current of lightning to stop the shaking.

Description: The user spits a thick globule of mud at the target. If aimed correctly, it can blind the target's vision and choke them. It can also be used to create a sticky patch on the ground.

The opponent will gather doton chakra into their lungs and spit out a thick mud ball towards the opponent anywhere the user wants to aim, it has power to force an opponent back, when hit on the face their vision is hurt due to mud all over the place and the opponent can choke if it does hit and stay on their face. You can also aim on the ground to have a opponent trip over. Its also a projectile technique so you can quickly send another tech without hesitation and can be used with combos.


(Doton: Iwa Yado Kuzushi) - Earth Release: Stone Lodging Destruction

Descripton: This technique allows the ninja to control nearby stone and rock. This can be especially useful if in a cave or a stone lodging. The technique can loosen the rocks and cause them to come raining down on whomever is trapped inside.

Okay this is best used in a cave then anywhere else. The opponent will control the nearby stone and rock and loosen them up making the whole cave very fragile. The cave will then begin to cave in on itself which can trap multiple opponents and kill them. You can use this to kill multiple opponents. I recommend that you never use it when your in the cave as well for thier is a chance you can also get hit by the rocks, so try trapping the opponent by luring them in the cave and then use the tech from outside.

Description: When used with Earth Release: Earth Flow River, the user will then perform the Ram → Horse → Dragon they can create a dragon-like head that fires concentrated mud bullets at an opponent. This can also be combined with a fire jutsu to shoot lava toward an opponent. The dragon can be created from other mud techniques as along as a mud source is available.

This is a very basic projectile based technique. The user perform 3 hand seals and spew out a dense, concentrated ball of mud. Medium size, not so big it will cover your vision when sending it. This jutsu can be in combos with two other jutsus, its also able to travel a long range. Its one of the really basic techs but being able to hit an opponent will hurt their vision as well as push them back. Simplicity is a good thing, by the way. You can create the mud bullets by using a mud source around the area.

Description: After forming the needed hand seal (Tiger), the user transforms the ground underneath their opponent into a river of mud that throws them off balance and carries them away from the user. The mud created by this technique can also be used as a medium for the Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet technique.

With one hand seal you will create a river of mud under the opponent feet. Its throw them off balance as well as the mud carrying the opponent away. From their it becomes difficult for the opponent to stand straight on a moving mud river. You can send attacks while he is down from the mud. The river is made short range of you, and the overall mud length is 5 meters long when created. Right when it is created you can move on to an attack.

Description: After striking the ground with their hands, the user manipulates the ground in front of him to form a slab that tilts upwards, up to 90º, creating a wall of earth that can defend from incoming frontal attacks. In addition, the user can also create 2 slabs that will rise and tilt to the sides in front of him, as if "opening up" the ground. This can be done to create a clear path if anything hazardous is above the ground in that specific area.

An extremely basic defensive technique. The user will place their hands on the ground rising a large wall upfront of them to block frontal attacks. Note the user can not see through the wall. Its sturdy enough to stop most projectile based techniques. Now as said you can not see through the wall so you can be surprised by attacks from the sides, above or even underground so anticipate an attack from those areas.

Description: This technique lets the user summon a river of mud infront of them. This technique can have water added to it to speed up the flow and increase its power.

The opponent will create a river up front of them and send it towards the opponent, the river is made of mud and runs slow alone, so its best to add some water to speed it up and have a more impact power. If an opponent is caught they will have restricted movement due to the heaviness of the mud as well as be pushed back. The rver goes up to mid long range. After making the mud you cna go onto another tech making it combo friendly. I would personally heat up the mud and give it a higher attack potency. Its also quick to perform but the river is straightforward and easy to evade.

Description: After performing snake hand seal the user slams their hand on the ground. The result is that the ground becomes heavily turned up with chunks of rubble popping out of the ground. This technique is used as a means to distract opponents to either create an escape or follow through with a surprise attack although it can also do some damage or be udes to destroy enemy earth techniques of equal rank and bellow.

A basic deception attack, after doing the hand seal and slamming their hand on the ground. The ground ahead of the user and up to mid-range begins to shake slightly, which will not hurt the balance but its what happens. Chunks of rocks will pop out very quickly. This is meant to shock or decieve the opponent in thinking its an attack where it really does not, so the opponent will react and go on the defensive or change their stance. You can quickly attack right after you slam your hand on the ground making it a nice jutsu for combo. You can also flee the area if needed in the NW.


(Doton: Kengan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Fist Rock Technique

Description: After performing the snake → Seal of Confrontation and then by encasing their arm in rock, the user can deal a powerful hardened punch against an opponent while being protected from direct contact with their target. If necessary, the weight of the rock can be increased to further increase the punch's destructive power through the Earth Release: Added Weight Technique or the Earth Release: Super Added Weight Technique.

Okay the user will send doton chakra through his arm encasing it with pure rock. With it the opponent is able to block techniques as well as deliver hard punches. Great for short range battle and simple to use, its purpose is simple as well. It has two hand seals. Your speed on the arm though is slowed down due to the extra weight. Also when you progress through doton you will be able to learn to specific techniques which can increase your weight and have a more destructive punch.

(Doton: Ton'neru chika no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Tunneling Technique

Description: The user after performing the required hand seals Ram → Dog → Rat →B ird is able to create a wide tunnel in the ground, this cannot travel through rock though or anything with a high density. The large tunnel that is created allows the user to transport others without detection.
Note: The initial entry of the technique is short range.

The user will perform 4 hand seals and create a hole on the ground which is a tunnel that can run long range. It can't though travel through high density rocks or material. So using it in mountain type terrains would be impossible. Using it on soil or a field is best. Now you can move through this tunnel but its not like hiding like a mole. You will not sense anything going on from above through a magnetic wave. You can though send the tunnel towards any area on the field. Its good to send clones or small summons through to set up a combo attack.

Description: After forming the necessary seal Snake, the user creates two walls of earth and traps their target in between them.

The user will summon two normal sized earth walls in each flank of the opponent which come together not to crush but trap them restricting their movement, then you can send a finishing attack. Rather basic, the walls move at a fast pace, and the user needs to do one hand seal. The opponent can still however counter it even if they are caught it restricts only movement nothing more. Very simple but nice to use in combos.

(Doton: Hokoriheki no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Dust Wall Technique

Description: The user will manipulate their chakra releasing it into the ground and with a wave of their arm or through the application of a weapon can cause a small wall of dust particles and sand to rise up from the ground and thrusting forwards. This technique creates a simple dust screen that will fade away after 3 turns.

A basic defense jutsu, the user will manipulate the debris on the ground to rise by a wave of the hand to create a dust wall. It is simple enough to protect the user from projectile techniques. If an opponent comes to close you can use it to force him back because if they get to close to the wall it has a type of property able to push someone back some meters. Lastly since its made of dust you can see through it. After summoning the dust screen it will remain for 3 turns before it fades away, it can block the vision from you and you're opponenet. This will be advantage because you can use a snick attack right after you summon the dust. Its a little larger then the opponent.

( Doton: Iwa Dangan ) - Earth Release: Rock Bullet

Description: The user manipulating their chakra will point their palm or fist at the opponent, creating a large rock on it which he then sends at the opponent. Alternatively, the user can "spit" the rock. In this case he will spit a large globule of mud which hardens mid way towards the opponent into a large rock.

Basic technique the user will simply use the earth to raise a huge rock and sends it at the opponent. This technique is projectile based and very easy to perform as well as quick. Its combo friendly as well as its able to go a very long range. Its easy to counter though and straightforward jutsu. If you have no earth source you can just spit out a large mud sphere which hardens to rock mid way pushing the opponent back.


( Doton: Josho Iwa ) - Earth Release: Rising Rocks

Description: The user claps their hands together and then unleashes two huge rocks from the ground on either side of the enemy to send the opponent flying backwards.

Very similar to the technique. The user claps their hands and unleashes two huge rocks from the ground on each side of the opponent that appears anywhere close to the opponent, it acts to try to attack the chin or any other area around them. The impact can cause the opponent to fly back in the air. As said before they are left vulnerable in the air, they rise quite quick and the opponent can sense the density happen in the ground before they officially rise so they can anticipate an attack. Difference is you can only use it up to mid-range the most.


( Doton: Gizagiza no Iwajin ) - Earth Release: Jagged Rock Formation

Description: The user will manipulate their chakra and stomps the ground. By doing so, he causes small fractures to rip through the ground, which will then force fragments of earth and rock to rise up from the ground like protruding rock formations to then deal blunt force damage to the opponent and can raise them up into the air.

The user will stomp on the ground and make the ground shake and tear through small fractures through the ground which will then force the ground fragments rise all over the area where the tore went through. The fragments will appear also around the opponent rising to hit them into the air with some serious force. They will be dealt damage as well as be vulnerable in the air. Simple and very fast jutsu after you stomp on the ground you can move on to your next attack.
