I've notice that naruto during his training with pa, fell into a spiky stone unscathed.

So how come blacks rods can penetrate through sagemode?

Because the rods are formed by the user's chakra. And you need incredible chakra to control the rinnegan.

Hashirama was an edo, believe his body is weaker automatically (sage mode increases his defense but it still is weaker due to edo).Also those rods are stronger than the spikes Naruto fell onto. Rods countered an susanoo arrow and pierced 8 tails I believe.

If you fall on rods it'll fk u up more than falling on rocks (but you'll still be fk'd up none the less).

TSB is not Will materialization but Yin-Yang release that gained by having Rikudou Senjutsu. That is TSB rod not Black Rod.

Black Zetsu is Will materialization of Kaguya in the form of living being while Black Ŕod is not a living being but functioning the same as BZ.

Naruto can used TSB rod because of having Rikudou senjutsu, Juubito can used TSB rod because being a Juubi jin.

But still according the Manga fact Rinnegan user without Rikudou Senjutsu cant used TSB Rod unless they stole some Rikudou Senjutsu power from Juubi jin(Exp post JJ Obito)

At the scan Indra gave us, Naruto attacking that black rod, thats mean he applying some force on that Black rod. Because that he can broke it. But it never shown that Naruto in sage mode tanked that rod bare body.

And for Will materialization aka Black Rod, it not just contained user Will but other power from Rinnegan or Mazo also. Because that it can tanked Amaterasu or pierced human body.
