Because people are afraid of change. Some people just want everyone to be perfect to their definition of 'normal', and being gay isn't in that definition for them.

I have nothing against them. They're people, just like you and I. People should just be people and enjoy their lives, care free of what others think about them. As long as no one is breaking any laws or attacking each other, we should just let each other be, right?

then when they realize it and accept it later in life, they come out about it

Some people are not as strong as others and need emotional support when dealing with the harassment they get. Yes, like you said, people get discriminated all the time, which is why I think a lot of other kinds of discrimination/harassment should be highlighted too.

Norms can't different throughout countries or peoples, being normal.is different everywhere. Being normal is respecting norms. But still, norms can be differents

So, since you like to think this way, could you decide to turn gay by tomorrow if you wanted to?

Since you believe it is a choice for gays, you should also consider the question of when heterosexual people chose to be heterosexual as well, since orientation, if a choice, is a choice for all groups not just one.

Why the hell would anyone chose to be something that they are not necessarily happy with? Many gay people have argued that they don't like being gay but they cannot change who they are.

Of course some aren't as emotionally stable as others, but playing the victim 24/7 isn't going to help either.

People in general are judgmental. It's why facades exist in this world. It's needed for survival.
