"Alright, good work. It's a basic technique and I wouldn't say you couldn't use it defensively. Just depends on how you apply the technique really. Its a bolt that comes down from the sky essentially so you just need to think how you can apply that for a counter or a defensive application. Sometimes just because a technique doesn't explicitly say defensive in its type doesn't mean you can't apply it in unique ways. Anyways, moving on. This next technique applies raiton chakra to create a tether to two fuuma shuriken or simply very large shuriken and whip them at an opponent. The raiton chakra tether allows you to maintain your lightning chakra in it and numb them. Do your thing Essen!"

Try to put in more detail than that :/. Nothing about the training has changed since the beginning. I still want you to start a discussion on what you think of the technique in its uses and applications in a fight. Be detailed. You know how it works.
"It could be used in a situation of gaining advantage that your opponent will not be able to move and as it's applied with ration I assume it will be given the ability to slice through objects, that is if your still applying ration chakra through the windmills shurikens etc. So I find this technique stable enough to electrify and numb the opponent and as well contact well with sution" Essen commented as he sat below the tree.

I say as I clasp my hands together forming the seal for a shadow clone to poof into existence and send it forth at Essen wielding a kunai with the clear intent to kill.

Essen leaps toward the sky as he claps his hands together he releases a form of lightning current waves in all directions as they spread toward the ground, left or right, up or down as he lands. Rocking the ground with thunder shocks, the clone's kunai attracts the electricity thus shocking it with the kunai. "...so this technique requests one to be in range as the clone was heading toward me. Quick for attack but limited to a certain range and has no numbing effect as it just shocks the opponent away from me" said after the clone was disbursed.
"Alright, good work mostly. You made one error. You said 'in all directions' while the technique clearly states that it only occurs forward in the direction your hands are pointing. So be careful there. It isn't an omnidirectional defense."

Essen releases ration chakra from all over this body into a plasma lightning style barrier. While inside, "given it's only 5 meters and also an offensive/ defensive jutus...I see that you can release this even at close contact as requires no hand seals. Sustaining it requires chakra and it is able to stay in use for 3 turns only. Limiting the user from using anything other than ration related" Essen waited.
