I find it amusing that people use Hinata’s comment about finding Naruto’s hand warm as a excuse to bash her for not caring about Neji’s death.
That list of things to hate about Hinata must be getting pretty damn short if you have to resort to this.
Firstly, to start off with the comment itself; Whats wrong with someone who just had a relative die finding comfort in someone else? She put on a brave front in to cheer up Naruto, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t care, this is all too apparent by her expression in “Regrets”.
The warm feeling she got from Naruto gave her assurance
A woman finding a guys hand to be big and strong is often portrayed as given women a feeling of security. At least in manga. In a time of depression having someone to trust/ believe in helps a lot
There was no fangirling from Hinata in this moment. The moment was touching and even had romantic feelings intertwined, but at no point did she act lovey dovey with Naruto.

Now, Moving onto the claim that this comment somehow shows she doesn’t care fore Neji.
I think people need to get it through their heads that the comment was made AFTER her and Naruto and accepted and decided to honor neji’s death.
Otherwise, you might as well bash Naruto for smiling at Hinata after Neji died in that Chapter 633 flashback, Might as well bash Gai for goofing off after neji’s death and being cheerful, Might as well bash tenten for cursing Neji when he died and you’d might as well bash lee for dreaming of beating the shit out of Neji in order to impress a girl who gives no ****’s about him romantically despite him dying a few hours ago.
Yes, Despite the fact that in “Regrets” we see her with a saddened expression remembering neji’s death, despite the fact that she cried for him, her body even shaking, and completely understood his will for dying as he did ; which Naruto and lee did not at first…. She doesn’t care for him. Lets all just ignore how Naruto barely shed a single tear, how Gai, Hiashi and Tenten had hardly any sort of real reaction…. And lets also ignore how she conveyed his will to Naruto and the entire alliance. Oh, and let's also ignore how even a decade later she's still visiting his grave and even named her son after him .

Hanabi was never eyeless during the War? That was in the Last, two years after the war. And yes, she does in fact show concern for Hanabi, so much so that she was willing to ignore Naruto's confession and go with Toneri in order to save her. So much so that she ripped Hanabi's eyes out of Toneri's face and returned them to her .
"this war is to protect naruto" while it's to protect the world and if needed naruto should be sacrificed she should've said"this war is to protect our loved ones or the world or even my friends" smh...
Iruka said the same thing on turtle Island to Naruto . "This war is to protect you, Naruto" or something like that. It's just Kishi's way of showing how amazing Naruto is and how everyone bows down before him.
And there is no need to such things when action speak louder than words. She protected Neji, was a look out for her division, saved the whole alliance from the Juubi alongside Ino, cried over Neji's death, and protected the alliance from Obito
But she does in fact say something similar to that later on.
