Madara used Susanoo without eyes, eh? How?

I thought it was established fact that you can't use susanoo without eyes/eyesight.

1) Itachi's susanoo wore off when he became blind

2) Same for Sasuke


Was this a retcon or plot hole? Can anybody give a proper explanation for this?

Actually, there's evidence that suggests Itachi was already completely blind when using his full Susano'o against Sasuke.

Here, he says "I know this feeling" when Orochimaru uses his Hydra technique, instead of simply saying "this is...". This points to the fact that he wasn't able to see anything.

Itachi actually still had Susano activated before dying, it didnt wear off. But he wasnt completly blind either, although almost!

Sasuke did loose control of Susano but i think it was rather because of how much stress he had just put on his eyes in such a small amount of time

Imo, there is no proper explanation

It seems like a plothole, plain and simple. I myself just try to forget it ever happened because it doesnt make any sense for a technique that requires the Mangekyo to awaken into one's eyes to be able to be used without the usage of those eyes or actually, without those eyes at all.

Sasuke and Itachi is different, because Itachi wasnt completly blind although he almost was, and Sasuke had just put an immense amount of stress on them so the pain was getting to him.

Well it gradually wore off as Itachi became blind. What about Sasuke then?

I often get tired of explaining this. Tobirama stated that the brains of Uchiha produce a special chakra into the eyes after traumatic experiences. This special chakra induces a change in the eyes. Susano'o is a manifestation of that chakra. The eyes are not required, unlike a technique such as Amaterasu, which needs eye contact. Itachi did use Susano'o for some time while blind, and then eventually lost the efficient levels to keep it up.
