And yes, I would have extended the roles of all WH members. Not because I'm their big fan (I don't hate them but I don't care that much either), but because I believe that they could have been made interesting; instead they weren't even characterized with enough distinction from each other. I mean... No author should write a character "to be hated". That's just another cheap trick to allow fan pandering. In fact, such writing only makes me feel sorry for such characters.
Also, I would have definitely change Esdeath so that she wouldn't have a crush on Tatsumi that makes fans believe that she could change, but a creepy, murderous obsession instead. I mean, she is a manipulative sadist, why would she even be capable of such feelings? Sure, she could have been made into a deeper villain with more elaborate motivations, but since being a sadist is her main "gimmick", I'd rather the author at least stuck to it.
Well, I've already mentioned how I would have liked for Syura's plot with unleashing the humanoid Danger Beasts was expanded upon. Maybe Syura's identity reveal should have come later, too, and we would have gotten a nice mystery subplot.
