Potential reason why the "fastest" ninja weren't the strongest?

I see lots of people saying Minato is the fastest character in Naruto, so how come he can't beat Hashirama, as speed and reflex > everything else? It's because Minato is not the fastest character. If he was he would've beaten everybody

4th Raikage is a speedster alright, nothing too impressive. Gear 2 luffy from Enies lobby is faster than 4th raikage. Minato has very few shunshin feats in battle which put him at speedster level. Is there any video which shows how fast Minato is in battle using shunshin only? I don't remember tbh

He is the fastest as mentioned by Kishi but his footspeed hasnt been shown.there was nobody to compare him in footspeed(Obito was teleporter, Bee and Raikage were afraid).

And as for this thread, faster characters are indeed the stronger one unless the attacks are countered by intangibility/regeneration (as shown by characters with sage chakra). Even Kaguya got speedblitzed on multiple occasions. Juubi jin are lucky to have regen, otherwise kamui raikiri would've killed kaguya

There are no true speedsters in Naruto, I don't think you understand how kishimoto defines speed in this manga.

All types of movement are categorised as speed in this manga. This isn't bleach, nor is it DBZ nor is this the DC universe, so stop using flash as comparison. Teleportation, Body Flicker, Space Time Ninjutsu are all used to evaluate speed in this manga, go take a look at the databook and see what kishi says about teleportation and space time and shunshin.

And since when is speed everything? Strategy, strength and power, intelligence all come into play. Hashirama is the reincarnate of the sage of six paths son, he was blessed with power that made him the god of all ninja. You said true speedsters would beat Hashirama/Madara which is false. False because there is no such thing (except for maybe 8 gates guy). Ninjas don't move at constant speed for long periods of time, they dash from point a to b or teleport and whatnot. Ay is a true speedster yet can't beat Madara or Hashirama, so you contradict yourself.

Minato has very few feats in general, we barely saw him fight when he was alive. But he has about 3 o 4 shunshin feats, however FTG>shunshin so he uses it much less. Why would he rely on an inferior technique? Your interpretation of speed is different to the authors interpretation of speed.

that was mainly due to madara's anticipation of Tobirama's FTG If it was Minato it wouldve been different!

That's because he's not a true speedster, as a speedster gains momentum while running/flying at high speed and delivers punch/kick to inflict damage, like the infinite mass punch. That's why teleportation can be used as speed in battle, Minato slashes opponent with FTG using his own body speed which is mediocre compared to Bleach. Minato does not blitz opponents. If he could cover the same distance while running or flying as he does using FTG, one of his punch would obliterate Hashirama

He has no running speed/flight speed feats

He relies exclusively on teleportation

His arms and legs don't move as fast as as a juubi jin, so his surprise attacks are useless

Because Minato doesn't have running/flight speed, his attacks don't have much momentum

Minato doesn't have better reaction speed than any other SM or MS user


The likes of Minato can't be compared to true speedstar like flash...

Minato's base speed is high, he used base speed to go from where Obito and Rin were to saving Kakashi who speed blitz to the enemy a while before, then he return in seconds. He needs to have great speed in order to have the great physical speed to react to the full speed of A. Sasuke who have stronger eyes than Itachi even couldn't keep track of A's move and needed to rely on Susanoo for defense as Karin said herself. So you're in saying MS users have better reaction than Minato when the sheer fact that Sasuke with MS couldn't do what Minato did and Minato waited until A was in his face before reacting.

As Lee put it, it doesn't matter if you can see him, if you can react to him then it's useless. If Sharingan users cant react to speedsters then what makes you think other Kage levels can? Even with SM sensory, if you don't have the speed to react along with the sensory ability then you'll get killed. Ex: if Minato FTG right behind SM Naruto with his attack already mid attack then Naruto isn't going to have time to counter. Also sensors aren't always using their sensing ability as Tobirama and Minato both shown.

OT. If you have the speed that others can't see or react too then the speedster have more chancing of winning. The speedsters don't really rely on only their speed and nothing else, they'll have ways to attack as well.
