[Discussion] Why are One Piece fans so angry?

I like One Piece but when i see some random hater say "One Piece is childish" all the OP fans automatically convert into 6 year olds and they start shouting insults and they start bringing in other manga or they spam shit on how Oda is God(i have seen people call Oda "Goda")

Why are OP fans so angry? possesive?

Just like how I've seen people calling Togashi, Godashi, it happens, you don't like it, well they're gonna keep doing it anyway, but that's a huge generalization that you're making, not every OP fan is angry.

Awards don't necessarily validate greatness, but the big 3 in general are overrated. Anyone who thinks they are perfect is just a fanboy.

Most OP fans are just protective. Some of us used to think pretty lowly of the manga before we started it due to various first impressions but now are in love with the story. So when an OP fan who used to fit that description sees that happening, they tend to be slightly rustled since they used to think the same but know better now. That's my take on it at least.

I guess most people shared that mentality of OP being for kids before starting to read/watch the series. They just know how flawed it is & to see someone sharing that old mentality you had just makes you want to show how wrong they are... but one thing that I learned is that you can't "force" someone to watch/read OP. The series isn't meant for everyone, i.e. there's some people who dislike it solely on how long it is or how long the series is expected to go on for.

It's in human nature, normally, to defend the things you love or like and to do so, one can go to any length. For example, take our resp. country's soldiers. And if you think it's stupid, as it's just a manga, then by that logic, it's also stupid to do so for our countries as they are nothing but lands. The funny part is, both are stupid.

We are not all like that (I think your overreacting with the insulting part to tbh )
Often these "critisisms" are build on a baseless claim or on a first impression
Childish? It's very hard to believe someone who is following the story would say such a thing
Seems like people just go to google and type in One Piece and see a "childish" picture and than deem the whole series like that

These arguments often have a weak foundation or non at all
So it's an insult to Oda and his hard work he puts in to One Piece , OP fans who generally love and admire Oda's work can get angry because of that.
Tbh it makes me irrate a little to if I see stuff like that

Not every One Piece fan is like that, but I have certainly seen those who do act that way.
Every fanbase has some of those kind of people who forget that their own preference and personal liking can never be a general rule followed/accepted/shared by every1.
