So I watched all anime episodes, and it is really weird to see the beginning of the series when Leone seemed to effortlessly defeat enemies and Akame actually had this hype and screen time. But what bothers me is how much they talk to themselves. Now I haven't watched any anime in a while, but I think that even in Naruto, most exposition is delivered by characters' inner monologue. In AgK however... they actually talk to themselves, even when no one is around. And yes, it's the same in the manga but it's not as noticeable, I guess.

What I mean is, they actually talk, out loud, instead of thinking to themselves. Sometimes they explain their abilities for no reason other than exposition/reader's benefit. The same information can be delivered in narration, dialog, one character explaining things to another, or just thoughts. AgK however isn't subtle in this regard, at all.

I never watched Bleach, and like I said, I don't watch anime that often, so I guess it's just that I'm not used to it. Actually it's hard to say which kind of exposition is the least annoying - some mangas have that endless narrative going on, sometimes with scientific facts; I actually read two separate mangas about people with insect powers, and they both had those insect facts going on for pages. I do think that the more subtle it is, the better (like, how many times did Mine mention that Pumpkin is stronger in a pinch?), but then again, I guess it's part of the appeal to a larger/younger audience.
