Yea you don't read the manga.. Sasuke was literally starring and trying to connect a basic sharigan genjutsu with Aye looking him dead in the eyes and Noted "Your sharingan is no match for me". Why would Sauke try genjutsu when his level of genjutsu wasn't working? Or better yet he couldm't get a clear direct eye to eye contact during the rest of the fight?
