What is uncool or lame about kindness or being civilized? Why like rudeness?

Eh we've just gotten to the point (being in peace time and all) where good old fashioned morality has become outdated.

Characters like Steve Rogers (Cap America) still prove that general decency and do-good-ness can still be hella fun to watch. See it's because there's more than just 'hey im a good and nice guy hyuk', he's a man who is proud to be the emblem he is but also hates that he is the man to do it. He doesn't want to be the stars and stripes wonder boy and that's what makes him a deeper character.

It's only when a character is portrayed overly to be smart and kind and generous with few other traits that make them a Mary Sue.

Ok yes. The few instances you just named were realistic. After all, had Obito been killed there, Madara wouldn't have been revived via rinne tensei, Sai would have been able to seal him, therefore Madara wouldn't have casted the infinite tsukuyomi and Kaguya wouldn't have been revived. This stuff I will admit.

However, this stuff is not the type of jerk stuff that I am talking about. This stuff wasn't even rude. Killing Obito would have solved everything and Sasuke was right in saying that he and Naruto couldn't really endanger themselves to save Kakashi and Sakura.

However, the rude parts come in at times like with the you're useless speech he gave to Sakura. He could have easily just said "Madara casted the genjutsu" (which he eventually did anyway, thus rendering the whole rant redundant) and saved a whole bunch of time instead of going on a whole rant about how useless Kakashi and Sakura were. This rant did not accomplish a thing, so you can not say that this was just Sasuke being realistic.

A realistic and reasonable person would realize that simply answering the question of "What happened?" is not going to do any harm and that wasting time to bash people is of no use (especially when you are just going to answer questions anyway).

Sasuke's rudeness dates all the way back to part 1 when Sasuke (even in times of peace) would just insult Naruto for no reason at all.

This is the kind of crap that I am talking about.

When I say that someone can still be nice, I don't mean that they have to be a replica of Naruto. They could be someone like Gohan for instance who would still actually kill an enemy all the while still being a likable person.

Fair enough and I can agree with that, rudeness is not the reason I like him though, it's the reasons I stated previously so yeah, maybe this thread doesn't apply to me lol.

I don't really get all that "sue" stuff (as in Mary Sue) to be honest. In my opinion, that "sue" crap just sounds like something that a twisted and illogical person made up to make everything that is good and logical seem bad.

Examples:

I have heard people call really powerful characters "Mary Sue" (which they see as a bad thing). This is stupid and illogical because more power gives you the potential to be more efficient and successful with your goals. There is really no such thing as gaining too much power (unless of course your opponent is the one gaining this power).

Now you're telling me that people who are both smart and kind are "Mary Sue"? That is a load of crap! Intelligence is key in improving the state of the world as is benevolence!

These literary tropes make no sense!

Bold: Please elaborate. What do you mean when you say this?

As for your question, I brought up realism because a lot of the lovers of rudeness like to say that the rude and arrogant ones are "realistic" or "rational" while they treat any nice character as unrealistic or illogical.

Politeness is boring. People are expected to be polite. When someone rebels against a societal standard, it draws attention. It makes other people feel as if they can speak impolitely about/towards this person, or any person for that matter. Anyway, "realistic" and "rational" have nothing to do with rudeness or politeness. If anything they are more polite than they are rude. As for the other part, you either understand it or you don't. Or maybe I'm too inarticulate to explain it at the moment...

Also, I'm starting to think that you're a troll because you talk about logic all the time but you have displayed a lack of logical thinking or have simply decided to ignore an obvious, logical answer to your question. And you bring it up where it is not needed, as I pointed out in my last post.

What is there to explain about logic? It should be self-explanatory that logic consists of striving to say and do the best possible things that will contribute to the success in attaining a desired goal while maintaining a peaceful environment and community.

IE. Not wasting time to bash people when you could just say "The jutsu got casted" , and then move on to plan your next move.

Basically, you are saying that I am right in believing that humans are simply a malevolent species that take pride in the pain that they can cause to innocent people (whether it be physical, emotional, economical, etc...). That is why people like you feel so empowered by witnessing the rudeness of people like Sasuke. It resonates with your evil desires to bring about pain in the world for no reason.

A truly good person would not feel empowered by the fact that they are free to callously hurt others.

It is sad. (And people wonder why I support infinite tsukuyomi).

The fact that you are deciding how "A truly good person" would feel shows that you still are thinking in only one way. And I edited my other post because I sent it too hastily and didn't think it through enough.

Oh wow I completely missed the supporting IT part. That kind of contradicts the premise of the original post and further proves that your understanding is incomplete.

Sasuke acting like that increases the tension hence makes the story more interesting. Like someone said if everyone was polite or kind or whateva its gonna be boring. You need characters like him in each show, and there's nothing wrong with people liking it. That doesn't mean you are like that in real life, you hate people like that in real life but in a world of fiction which is for entertainment then its all good. Sometimes people take this stuf too seriously

The premise of my original post was asking why on earth so many people enjoy a personality that seeks to hurt others. In the infinite tsukuyomi, you can fashion the world how you want it. Innocent people do not have to be hurt because of simple circumstance, economic problems, hierarchy in society, etc...

Furthermore, nobody has to take crap from other people. Therefore, Sasuke could be as bad as he wanted to be and it wouldn't matter because no innocent person would actually be hurt by his malevolence.

A world where nobody has to suffer oppression of those who seek to hurt them goes very well with my premise of having a genuinely kind person or society that can also be rational, efficient and function properly.

Tell me your way of thinking then. Tell me what on earth justifies the desire to hurt other people for no reason.

You guys exaggerate Sasuke's personality tbh, he doesn't go out of his way to make people feel bad, he's just a stern person, some things he says could come off as mean or rude, but overall he's not really like that, he's neutral, most of the time he's calm and quiet

I didn't say it was justifiable, nor did I say that these were my thoughts. However, there are reasons for everything a person does, reasons for people to be the way that they are. Once these reasons are known, a person's intent can be truly understood, and the question you posed can be approached with open eyes. Until you have fully understood a person, you have no idea whether or not their actions are truly "unjustified". I'll give you a hint since it looks like you're trying really hard but getting nowhere: Right now, you are the same as the people who say that Itachi was an evil person.

Sasuke is not neutral. Look at these 3 examples:

Overly good: The infinite tsukuyomi got casted, but we can stop it with love and teamwork!!!!

Neutral: The infinite tsukuyomi got casted.

Bad: What good would it do to tell you. You're useless. There's nothing you can do. Anyway, the infinite tsukuyomi got casted.

Do you see the difference between these 3 versions of conveying the info about what happened? You don't have to be overly good, but the bad one is just being a jerk. The neutral one suffices. Don't you think so?

I see where you are going with this, but tell me this. I can respect what you are saying about waiting to truly understand someone, but does that mean that innocent people should have to just sit there and just let themselves be hurt by an oppressor just because the oppressor may have deep issues?

If a friend of mine dies and this sends me into a spiralling depression, does this give me the right to just come and abuse you when you did nothing to deserve said abuse?

Even if a person has reasons or issues, I can not accept a person projecting all of their hatred and vice onto innocent random other people!

I never said he had to act the same as everyone else. You can still be different from someone without being a jerk. For example, Rock Lee, Shikamaru and Kakashi all have very different personalities ,but all of them still treat others with respect.

I partially agree. I mean, that isn't what makes Sasuke cool though, it just makes him cooler.
Kid Kakashi was like Sasuke, an *******. Now that he grew up, he's still badass. I don't know why, he just is.
I think the same goes for Sasuke. People just enjoy him saying that because they all have a hate for "fodder" characters and enjoy putting them down.

I agree, that him lashing out on sakura was un-called for, at-least in that moment, but most of the time, Sasuke barely acts mean to sakura, he just gets put in the wrong situation's and he's misunderstood, kishi constantly makes sasuke look bad to the viewers but he has valid reason's for what he does, just like how k11 knows nothing about what danzo did and thought sasuke had just went psychotic and had no reason for attacking the summit

He didn't tell her she was useless, stop exagerrating. All he said was there's nothing more she can do and he said that in the context of the situation they were in then.
