Everything she listed is in the Manga, looks like the people who are telling us that the Manga is fine don't know it too well themselves.

I loved the moment along with the tactic behind it, which actually worked for an instant.
Don't forget that Naruto is a Shonen manga. Every leading Shonen series do use these kinds of comic relief moments no matter the seriousness of the situation. The perfect examples being: The final fight vs Aizen (Bleach) and the Marineford War (One Piece).
It's been a while since Kishi has used the comic relief in Naruto, and this recent one, IMO was done with a perfect timing, having the unexpected value to it, which all in one made me actually laugh.

Sorry, I'm not following. And I see nothing wrong with that notion, the author set for this story arc. Like I said, humor has it's place, and great when its GOOD. We all knew the story was headed in this direction when the arc started. Lives were gonna be lost, tears were gonna be shed, etc. This was to be expected. This is like saying naruto smiles, and tells a joke right after Neji is killed trying to protect him. It's misplaced given the tonal shift, the theme. Problem is the writer gave himself no real room to fit something like this in, given how how he, himself set the tone. Don't ask us to expect big scale, mature storytelling, and a serious epic final fight if it's gonna become a circus. I rest my case....

We're not in part 1 anymore, champ. And part 1 has all those things.

I agree. It was a legit tactic and a complete blindside to Kaguya and worked perfectly.

1. Naruto, Lee and Gaara were depressed in the past, and showed signs of depression in the current timeline
2. Gaara, Orochimaru, Gato, Sasuke(while under CM), and the Sound 4 were psychopaths.
If you want, I can list each of those things again with a specific example of it in the series.
Then you are the one that needs to reread this manga. All of those are in there.
Well it's not part 1 anymore. See, once you've made progress and maturation in the series like Naruto has by transitioning from part 1 to Shippuden, doing humor you'd expect from part 1 or early Shippuden(we're talking first, and one, episode here outside of filler), then you've regressed, which is a bad thing.

I understand that the manga isn't the same. But Naruto is. He's been doing knucklehead antics like this throughout the war arc alone.

You're basically telling me and everyone else not to voice our opinion, in which case, you should also keep your mouth shut. And since we both know that isn't going to happen, I'll continue to talk about Naruto on NarutoBase. And you? You'll have your head up Kishimoto's rectum.

It being in character doesn't make less of bad writing, especially when canonically, Naruto was shown to grow past it, and never bring it up. This is basically Kishi saying "Hey you remember character development? Well, Naruto doesn't have it."

I did chuckled. I wasn't expecting to see any of those jutsus anymore, or while this war is still taking place. But as mentioned: she can absorb jutsus, so a diversion was needed and an unexpected one at that and to break the tension of all that is serious.
