Biggest Plot hole: Itachi defeating Orochimau.

First let's see the fight:

here are the contradictions:

1/ It's said that Itachi can't defeat Jiraiya even with Kisame's help, and we all know that Jiraiya failed to force Oro to return to village, let's just say Jiraiya = Orochimaru (it's not what the thread is about)

2/ Orochimaru got trapped into a usual Sharingan Genjutsu (not a MS one), In the fight between Itachi, Kisame vs Kakashi, Asuma and Kurenai, the latter one was able easily to dispell It by simply biting her mouth.

2/ The databook says that Orochimaru has 5 in Genjutsu, Jiraiya for exemple has 3 and he is able to dispell Genjutsus while Orochimaru couldn't.

3/ Itachi cut Orochimaru's arm when he wanted to dispell it, He actually helped him getting out of it !

4/ By cutting his arm Orochimaru can regenerate his body so he was able te make it grow again and use handseals and Ninjutsu to fight.

Conclusion: The fight is a plot hole and Kishi is an Itachi fanboy.

Oro was never able to gain upper hand on itachi ever since they were both at akatski.
Plus he may have said he n kisame would be able to defeat jiraya jus so to get away as he doesnt want the leaf vill get harm n certain not loss their tail beast.

It wasn't prime Oro, it was him in a dilapidated body. Prime Orochi > Prime Jiraiya. It's just that he weakened his body by experimenting and failing over and over again. He is probably on Hiruzen's level and would wipe the floor with Itachi if given the strength of his original body. Pretty much the Oro that we see throughout the series is a much much weaker version of him, let's not forget that he was a prodigy.

1 - Obviously not true. Itachi can beat Jiraiya with Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi. Itachi was just showing his pacifist ways.

2 - Kurenai is a stated genjutsu profess

3 - Jiraiya was never stated or shown to be able to break the more potent sharingan genjutsu.

4 - It was a warning saying Itachi could have killed if he wanted.

The fight wasnt a plot hole.


Also the fight wasnt filler and Itachi didnt use Tsukiyomi. He used Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique. Sasuke did the same jutsu.

Itachi intention was to protect Konoha, not to kill their strongest shinibo (at that time).

It weren't same genjutsu.

Itachi never casted genjutsu on Jiraiya, so point here is invalid.

I thought that Orochimaru wanted to use some jutsu.

Orochimaru realised that Itachi is far above him and decided to withdraw.
