Are we just going to forget that Orochimaru is currently in a Zetsu body, with his arms back, and we still don't know what his actual intentions are?

Of course not. Most of us are waiting to see if he has some sort of ulterior motive...but, imo, there's no denying those failures I mentioned.

Orochimaru isnt a complete failure, he may not have won battles but the things he accomplished are many, Due to all his research and experiments Kabuto was able to control the war for a long time and even shamed two uchihas at the same time

Firstly, so what? Success rate is success rate. Rather you used knowledge gathered by someone else to be successful in an endeavor is irrelevant.

Secondly, after using that knowledge, Kabuto got trolled by Itachi. So, technically, Orochimaru indirectly got beat by Itachi...again.

There's one thing you should consider when comparing Orochimaru to other villains. That Orochimaru actually learned and achieved everything by himself, without any stolen powers or OP kekkei genkai and that he was one of a few, who weren't manipulated by anyone.

But yeah, he had many failures, but you weren't expecting him to kill/take over main characters or defeat Itachi, when he's one of Kishimoto's favourite characters, were you?

But yeah, he had many failures, but you weren't expecting him to kill/take over main characters or defeat Itachi, when he's one of Kishimoto's favourite characters, were you?

I kind of was. In all of his fights, he doesn't really show us his true abilities, imo (I know Hiruzen really messed him up, but you would think someone as smart as him in the field of biology would be able to fix his arm problem somehow).

He was the main villain, and possibly is the final villain, yet he's only killed the Fourth Kazekage (who apparently didn't even try) and Hiruzen (indirectly, but yeah).

Madara and Obito have at least done some serious damage in their fights and have actually fought in more than two serious fights.
