Kaguya's appearance is clearly not that of a normal human. The fact that she came from a 'faraway land to eat the fruit' makes her origins suspicious. To me, it sounds like a more powerful being observing another world and determining something of great importance being there. Whatever her origin, she essentially became a god once she ate the fruit and took dominion over the world.
When it comes to her appearance specifically, she has very prominent horns:
Her son also has horns and while not as prominent, they are still very distinct:
Its obvious that the horns were inherited genetically, but a much lesser version. Possibly explaining why his horns are so much smaller is simple. Its like a black and white couple having a baby, the baby will be half black. In this case, it is very possible that Kaguya married a pure human, and her offspring were essentially half deity, or demi-gods. If she was of non-human origin, then her offspring with a pure human might result in an appearance similar what we see in the sage. Again, whether you believe she was an actual inter-stellar alien is up to you, but the fact is she had essentially God-like powers.
In modern culture, we often associate aliens with Godly creatures or higher beings. A simple example is the movie Thor. Thor is an alien yet considered a god among many cultures. The 2 essentially become one and the same. My point here is that believing in a higher intelligence, deity-like, alien is not an uncommon thing. Not believing in some sort of life outside our planet is actually extremely naïve, considering how many millions of planets there are out there. Now I'm getting into ancient alien territory which wasn't my ultimate goal, but I think it helps drive the point home.
To summarize, Kaguya's appearance is far from normal and has very prominent horns. The fact that her son had so much smaller horns can be explained by her marrying a pure human, thus creating a demi-god or half alien (whatever you would prefer). Her fixation on the fruit actually could help classify her as a superior minded, inter-stellar being observing our planet from afar. Perhaps other individuals of her race knew about our planet as well. Perhaps there was even a rule on their planet that FORBID THEM from coming to our planet. This could make Kaguya an outcast that was banished from her planet. This may explain her actions on this planet and the fact that she stayed.
I don't want to step on any toes with this thread and don't want to get into the religious side (I am a Christian btw), but I am simply bringing up the possibility she could be an inter-stellar visitor. I did my best to back it up with more than just the Sage's suspicious statements. I simply find this idea to fall right in line with the modern thoughts and discussions on aliens/gods. Considering there is the possibility that Gods of cultural lore could very well have been aliens makes this possibility all the greater. Thoughts, comments, concerns, suggestions? No rage please!
