Naruto's character has never been my cup of tea.

I like him more than I use to,but that's probably just all his inherited power ups that I like not his actual character.

Naruto was destined for greatness.. so what? Why hate?... he may have been destined for greatness, but he had a really tough childhood. He grew up dealing with all the bullsh*t, well if you've read the whole manga you know what I'm talking about, and still managed to rise above it all.. with hard work and destiny.

He's the main character, and you act like he wasn't supposed to have an awesome fate ahead of him? Come oooooon... lol gettooouuutttaaaaheeerre. Lol

It's still about hardwork

Neji wondered if destiny was an escapable pass or not because even though his fater died for the main branch he chose it
If naruto didn't change neji then he wouldn't have jumped in front of him and Hinata

Lots of characters work equally hard if not harder, so I don't see why people capitalise how HARD he works as if everyone else is lazy

But that "Choice" ended up fulfilling the same destiny that he was forced upon at birth. You cannot deny that being either a HUGE coincidence or Kishi does not care anymore. He was just doing damage control and I think people need to stop making excuses for him and see that maybe that idea was scraped by kishi. The fact is his destiny was to protect the main branch even if it costs him his life, and guess what? It costs him his life, so what does that say about destiny which was already predicted/determined? It was right after all, he was bound till his last breathe.

Maybe the problem isn't Naruto, its you own maturity level. You say you dislike it when he talks people down reconciles with others who have caused him problems, this is the adult version of getting over emotional and always flying off the hinges without constraint.

You miss when he was young because you yourself are still in the state of mind. It has not been a perfect transition, however we can chalk that up to lackluster writing, however this is manga is about the journey, both physical and emotional.

This is why so many people worship (no exaggerating here) Sasuke and other villainous/rebellious characters. They never grow up, so they are prone to these selfish outbursts and carry things to an extreme, its not strength its weakness to never change.

I never said I don't, you have some misconception, His character was really good till after the pain arc.

neji said he doesn't know if he you can choose your path or not either way the destination may be the same in the end but by living like the latter you can strive towards a goal
naruto's teacher was hokage before him,the teacher before kakashi was hokage etc.
naruto was destined to be hokage he just didn't know it yet and because of that he strived towards that goal instead of doing nothing because doing nothing wouldn't make him hokage like if neji didn't change and decided not to jump in front of hinata

I guess you have the point, but Naruto still taking all these shortcuts so he's basically still automatically destined for greatness.
