Of all the changes we have seen occur during this war, one thing is for sure, Kishi has kept character personalities extremely consistent.
Have you ever opened a user submitted prediction, read a line of a particular character and exclaimed, "They'd never say that!"? If you have, you'd realize that the reason you believe that character would never say that is because Kishi has done such a good job of establishing that character's personality.
Now there is also room for personality changes, but when they occur, Kishi gives good reasons for them. We've seen Sasuke undergo multiple changes, most notably in the war, but hasn't Kishi established that Sasuke is consistently fickle anyway? By that I mean Sasuke is established as being moldable, a blank canvas as Itachi puts it. So it is well within Sasuke's character to be inconsistent or fickle right?
Bottom line I'm getting at is no matter how many changes we see go down in this manga in regard to power scaling, plot driven upgrades and the like, we can always count on the fact that Kishi will never change one of his character's personalities without good reason.
I commend Kishi, and all manga writers honestly, because establishing the mindsets and character personalities of dozens of characters while always keeping them consistent is no small task. Much respect.
