Hey, Numbers here. Important thread today so hear me out. You'll learn to enjoy the manga a lot more when you realise TNJ isn't an actual thing and is the
ENTIRE POINT OF THIS MANGA.
-It's why the boundary between good/evil doesn't exist in this story.
-It's why war and the road to peace is the main theme of the story.
-It's why Naruto Uzumaki is special and why he is our protagonist.
One panel can act as a visual metaphor for all of this and ironically, it was in todays chapter.

► EMPATHY
Naruto is the one to bring everybody together. Ending conflict, the boundary between good/evil and ultimately peace. EMPATHY is what makes Naruto a good character. He saw a tortured child inside the psychopath Gaara. He saw a hopeful strong woman inside the alcoholic Tsunade who had given up, a strong ally inside the embodiment of evil Demon Fox within him and now the ninja world has teamed up against one ultimate 'evil' and even that Naruto will make redundant.
Name one relevant antagonist in the Naruto series who did not get a sympathetic background. From Kakazu to Danzo to Orochimaru to Pain, every single one started pure. The only person who was able to resist Naruto's empathy seems to be Sasuke, a special case. And even then, Naruto undeniably had an impact on his character. Through life experiences Sasuke was able to come to his own moral decision, based off the route his revenge had taken him and the words and thoughts given to him through Hashirama, Itachi, The Leaf, Kabuto, Danzo, Orochimaru, his team AND Naruto.

He just came to the conclusion on his own.
►"YOU WANT TO HELP HIM"
Kakashi summarised it at the very end of the 10 Tails Revival Arc the reason. Listen to his words.

You want to help him. His empathy rubs off on other shinobi and ultimately the reader. Naruto is a simple and basic character because he's essentially, a canvas. His innocence and the hardships he went through at his early age have given him a unique vision on the world and even if he isn't the most intelligent or complex character- the changes that happen around his character because of his outlook on life are amazing.
► NARUTO'S NINJA WAY
Where does all this come from? Was he born with this blessing of being a messiah? No. He was taught it on his first mission. The people we have to thank for Naruto's ninja way are:

The deaths of Zabuza & Haku had a HUGE impact on Naruto as a young child. He never empathised with Sasuke or anyone else before the Zabuza mission. It's not just from his past as the 9 tails kid- it's the fact that Naruto saw a different side to someone who was supposedly his enemy. As he says at the end of the arc, "I actually quite liked them!"
On his first proper mission Naruto learnt to empathise with people, good or bad and see different points of view. Without Haku and Zabuza's sacrifices to protect and avenge each other, Naruto would've never gone onto become the ninja he is today.
Gaara would still be the psycho jinchuuriki, Neji wouldnt have died free, Sai would still work for the Foundation, Tsunade would not be Hokage and Nagato would've killed everyone in the Leaf. It's this understanding that will also eventually create peace in the Ninja world. The seemingly pointless and trivial first arc may seem boring but it's pretty much one of the most important moments as it forms the entire point of the story.

Naruto Uzumaki is a fantastically written character and people really do not appreciate this enough to degrade it to such simplifciations as 'Talk no Jutsu'.
Numbers out.
