"Said to be"/ " It is said" <<<<<<< "HAILED AS". Common English logic.
It's actually the same in terms of value. By the way that's called grammar. Using a general term as English shows you don't understand the difference between grammar and vocabulary. Not to mention there's multiple forms of the English language.

Public poll is up. Let's separate the intelligent people from the... not-so-intelligent people. :)

You know, people like you tick me off! You act like something that's not a fact is one and insult others like pitiful children. Normally I wouldn't make statements so harsh, but it's pretty clear you need a rude awakening given that you made a thread insulting all others that don't accept your ultimatum. Alright, watch as I show how flawed your logic truly is.

That was stated by Iruka. Iruka merely stated what he heard from konoha's history, but it's cannon that the history books of konoha never quite grasped Hashirama's strength as confirmed by Kabuto, who collected intel for a living.

So it's Iruka's word, or somebody who actually knows what he's talking about. You can't take any statement that a character makes and pretend it's what the author thinks. If in an interview, Kishimoto says "Hiruzen is stronger than Hashirama," then it's a fact. The rest is you taking one character's statement above all others. If character statements were absolute truths by the author, then we'd have this mess.

So are the Hyuga stronger than the Uchiha and Senju? Lol! You don't take character statements as the author's words..... ever.

Nope sadly its not the same in value.

1. Hiruzen was still alive, and even with what Iruka mentioned about his strength. He was not hailed as the the best shinobi.

2. Tobirama and Hashirama were wayyy before Hiruzen, and they were still being hailed as the best shinobi. Already shows who is considered superior out of the 4 Hokage.

3. Iruka made a statement of what he heard, and he was talking to the kids at that time.

4. Anbu , ELITE NINJA of the village.. stated that they are BEING HAILED.. meaning its present form.. ninja from 60 years ago are being hailed as the best shinobi till that day..

And that was a really bad comeback..

"There aren't ninja's on the same level as the first hokage senju hashirama anymore"
You kinda murdered yourself in your own post. Hashirama was hailed as the God of Shinobi, even someone in krikagure knew that. So kabuto stating the people that heard his strength consider him a fairy tale isn't entirely correct. Entire argument flops on itself.

Manga states he was superlative even to the other hokage.

That doesn't disprove it at all. The point is, Hashirama was so strong, that people thought that the stories about him were exaggerated. Meaning that everyone actually underestimates Hashirama's abilities. This is further supported by how when Hashirama and Madara fought that they were completely awestruck.

This shows that Konoha's records were completely flawed, and therefore, Hiruzen being said to be the strongest hokage is not to be trusted.

No one even believing that Hashirama's overwhelming strength was real while believing that Hiruzen's strength was real means that Hashirama was stronger, which is obvious as of now.

I believe in author...
And I also believe in Kabuto's word that Hashi's powers were so great that no one wanted to believe it being real... And Oro's word; "God of Shinobi"... Madara; "Only he could have stopped me"...

P.S.
Hiruzen; @Juubito"He is even stronger than you(Hashi)"

I am not even sure if I understand your thread. Superlative, in regards to pure Oxford Dictionary simply means 'excellent'. Now that 'One' Dialogue means little without putting it into the proper context where it took place, the Omniscient value of the narrator, or any other exaggerating factors, or the Metaphors or any other figure of speech or connotative inflections involved.

Any 'idiot' should be aware of all of the things are ventured, along with the Visual Grammar that is presented through imagery. Now put all of this together and then you or anyone would realize how utterly stupid it's to simply rely on definitions beyond contextual, connotative, and exaggerated meanings. So no, I don't agree with Dictionary meanings ONLY as they are simply 'Denotations', when the contextual relevance and the aforementioned factors play a major role in the full interpretation of the text or images with reference to the utter lack of any omniscient narrator within the manga.

This means, ANY text or image is subject to different interpretation unless its interpretation is not rendered obsolete by different factors.

It is for each of us to believe in what we choose to believe are we living in the matrix? The red pill or the blue pill? Is hashirama the god of shinobi or hiruzen? Potato potato
