By this logic, Itachi is invincible, Kiba, Naruto and Sasuke will all be Hokage, Neji will defeat Naruto at the Chunin Exams, Hidan can kill Pein and Kakuzu will take Kakashi's heart.

This isn't a reference to Hiruzen still being stronger, it's a reference to the fact that he's old, and old people don't want to be referred to in past tense cuz death is near for them, so they'd rather not be referred to like they're no longer in the present

It was even stated that his battle was miserable compared to his prime and that his chakra levels significantly dropped. Hiruzen was already aware he was out of his prime which is why he corrected Iruka.

I agree. He already showed he's the only human without KKG, ocular prowess, and special dna to use all five elements simultaneously which he was stated to do nearly 600 chapters prior. May as well wait and find out seeing how hashirama is useless along with tobirama right now.
