Haha, well to start of with, when I first had the idea of including the Master Sword in my The Legendary Sage of Konoha Series, I always had in mind that it would be fun to write a The Legend of Zelda FanFic. Truth been told, since that was kind of too "distant" and vague at that point, I figured I would at least try and Incorporate some of its elements into my existing work, and that is where it all began basically. One thing that was on my mind back then was the shrouded view of the Sage of Six Paths, as not much was known about him back then. I knew for one thing that I wanted to have him make an appearance, so I had to do some outside the box thinking. At first I remembered one of the first pics revealed of him, holding a staff and a sword fighting the Juubi, and it was here the idea of making that sword the Master Sword came from. As the thought grew from and idea to an actual plan, I had to start forming my notes and my story for Naruto's battle with the Sage, and it was from this all new approach that I got the idea to write a FanFic of the SoSP himself, and due to this, I decided to reveal a ton of that said story through the Juubi and the Sage himself throughout The Legendary Sage of Konoha Returns. For it all to work, I had to make a decent story, and due to how I laid it out about the Sage finding the Master Sword and how it eventually ended up in Naruto's possession, the idea of a Master Timeline started to form. At first, I thought of also finding a way to make the sword play a part in my upcoming Three Kingdoms work (as briefly shown in my triple preview thread), and like before, I had to give a background story for the Master Sword there as well. And of course, from there on and out, the idea of finally making a The Legend of Zelda FanFic (that eventually turned into a One-Shot) appeared.
Haha, well like I've stated before, I did try to write this One-Shot in a way to make it read-able for those who are unfamiliar with the Zelda universe as well, and I suppose you are one of those people indeed. To hear that it made sense, or at least enough sense for you to understand, make me believe that I did in fact manage to pull off what I set out to do, namely making this a read-able story.
Yes... The whole idea of throwing Zorro into the mix was in fact the final missing piece to make this story come through, as up until the point where that idea struck me, I didn't really have a "true" or should I say, real story to make. The Mask of Zorro, one of the movies that I've probably watched the most in my life, if not the most, was one big inspiration to make this happen. Not long ago, I decided to re-watch it again, together with its sequel, The Legend of Zorro, and it was after that, that my "Zorro" enthusiasm returned, as seen by my name change among other things, haha. And from there on, I decided to find a way to bring Zorro into the mix, and this was the result.
The first scene in this One-Shot is actually the first scene I came up with, alongside the end where Link thrusts the Master Sword into the head of Ganon. That first scene was probably the only idea I had for a possible Zelda fic for a very long time, and it was probably the only idea that made this eventually turn into a real project. Back then, I only had the idea of the Queen or the Princess being transported by horse and carrier, and that they were attacked, but as far as the actual plot went, I basically had no clue.
So in the end, I didn't start it of with a battle orientated scene just to make it interesting from the get-go, but because the idea of something Zelda based starting off at a high note had always been "dwelling" inside of me you could say.
You are indeed right, they never hook up, not to such a degree detailed in my story anyways, haha, although I always liked the idea, so that's one of the reasons to why I made it happen in my tale xP
I'm glad you liked this story bro, as you are by far the only one to give me an actual and detailed review ^_^ So thanks a bunch! =)
And I'll always be up for discussion if there are more aspects you want to go further into, hahaha xP ;D As for this reply, you probably don't have to reply to every parts of it if you don't feel like it. After all, I know you can be a busy man and that you have an own Original work/sequel to work on
1: Indeed... Even though I've had my roller coaster ride regarding my spirit for writing my TLSoK Series, this project was on a high note from the very start. It had been a long time since I was this genuine fired up to write something, and I can only look back on how long it took me to actually get it done. By NB standards these days, where the views and comments have been high compared to what the standard is, I still would have wished for more regarding the effort and time I put into this, so I might actually try and take this project somewhere else when the time is right as well. We shall see indeed.
4: Haha, it is probably the only real fun fact of this whole note, but it is good to see someone actually both reading and making a comment out of it =p
5: You should. As of now though, depending on how NB will "progress" or continue to flow, I might actually decide to not go all the way with this Master Timeline project after all, at least not here. For one, I'll be releasing the Short Movie Series Finale for TLSoK next, and after that I'll be doing the Short Movie of The Sage of Six Paths before finally making a stand on whether to actually go through with my original work here at the Base or make my retirement. Seeing how things has gone for the last two years or so, I'm not really too positive regarding the possible future of my writing career here at the Base. I will finish my Naruto based works though, but depending on how well or bad this One-Shot will do someplace else when I get around to it, I might actually decide that it is time to try something new. Only the future will tell my friend
