Well the WC qualifiers involved 3 front runner, Zlatan,Ribery and Cr7, so its not in favor for anyone everyone has their advantage, but TBH its a disadvantage for Cr7 because peop;e actually think Portugal will lost to Sweden,Well its not like fifa mysteriously opened voting after the world cup qualifiers or madrid fans didn't campaign for him every home gain, but sure he did deserve it ._.
And I understand that wasn't just directed at you, but just in general and people are still going on about it.Well the WC qualifiers involved 3 front runner, Zlatan,Ribery and Cr7, so its not in favor for anyone everyone has their advantage, but TBH its a disadvantage for Cr7 because peop;e actually think Portugal will lost to Sweden,
and also its just in 1 game that the fans campaign for him, compared to Ribery whose been going around blabbering about him being better than Leo and Cr7 in 2013 and how he deserve to win the award....
@Relax i move on from that and we all know we finished that skirmish a long time ago, if Sneijder didn't win i see no reason why Ribery is in the top 3,
and by the way just like Sneijder, Ribery won the vote when it comes to the journalist..........
Actually, I still maintain that. For me, the Ballon D'Or was a real deal before FIFA merged with it and in that respect, Sneijder and Ribery both deserved it. Actually, both won the journalists vote in either case. But then, let's see it in the proper way - if Sneijder (or Iniesta) never won it, I don't see any reason why Ribery should.Nothing against CR, but its funny when Messi won the award in 2010, Sneijder deserved it after his treble by his fans (CR), but CR wins it all about being the best individual in 2013 and neglecting Ribery treble.
Anyways Congrats to CR on winning the award, well deserved.
Hahahaha, this is hilarious. I got French channels on my place; frankly their butthurt comments and journalism after Ronaldo's speech were priceless."I am not a selfish player and the Fifa Ballon d'Or was not an objective of mine," Ribery was quoted as saying by Bild.
LOL
So it was directed to me after all xd....And I understand that wasn't just directed at you, but just in general and people are still going on about it.
"I am not a selfish player and the Fifa Ballon d'Or was not an objective of mine," Ribery was quoted as saying by Bild.
LOL
Individually, Iniesta will never be a match-decider like Ronaldo/Messi.I agree with all escorps said except him implying iniesta is light years away from messi and ronaldo on an individual level.
True but i watch iniesta week in week out in laliga and the dude is phoenomenal not a game changer as messi or neymar as he is lacking in goals but then again he is a midfielder, messi and ronaldo importance are sometimes exagerrated in thier indvidual teams in my opinion and i say this because if you watched madrid last season with ozil who not only scores goals but makes brilliant passes and runs you will see madrid arent the same side, though isco is good but nowhere near a game changer or a star as ozil was to madrid and as important as iniesta. Isnt to barcelona, however on an indvidual level i think iniesta on his best day isnt light years away from the duo. Frankly ribery would have stood a higher chance if his goal tally was improved even if he ended the year with 40-50 no where ronaldo who netted close to 70 he would have had a real chance. Also do you agree with the worldXI? Well heres mine.Individually, Iniesta will never be a match-decider like Ronaldo/Messi.
No disrespect to Iniesta who's an outstanding player in every means, but he isn't a match-winner on a constant basis like those 2 or even Suarez, Zlatan ect...
Iniesta should definitely go down as one of the greatest football player ever, but still, he's still just a wonder player of a wonderful edifice of a team; be it for Spain or Barca. Pretty much the same criticism that Sneijder faced in 2010 that Inter's triumph should equally be distributed to Mourinho's tactics, Julio Cesar, Maicon, Eto'o, D.Milito ect... And again same thing, many football fans argued that several other Bayern players should have been credited to same level as Ribery.
Also, it's not really a matter of individual skills. Charisma and persona also play a huge part. Take all those players - Ronaldo, Messi, Zlatan, Neymar, Suarez ect... Those are players with big persona, big ego, big charisma, the star player of their teams, the captain armband for many of them, heavily promoted by their sides as a superstar.
Great players like Ribery, Iniesta ect... won't win it, because they share the spotlight. Ronaldo, Messi and Co. don't share the spotlight or look for the spotlight - it's the spotlight who looks for them!!!
With the merging of FIFA with France Football, Ballon D'Or is not for football players - It Is For Football Stars!
Well, obviously, Ribery would have had a higher chance if he scored around 35-40 goals. With the recklessness that Bayern destroyed opposition, if Ribery tripled his score tally, then perhaps he wouldn't have needed to campaign for the Ballon D'Or! Because, then Bayern would have had actually look like a wonderful team with Ribery as a standout player.True but i watch iniesta week in week out in laliga and the dude is phoenomenal not a game changer as messi or neymar as he is lacking in goals but then again he is a midfielder, messi and ronaldo importance are sometimes exagerrated in thier indvidual teams in my opinion and i say this because if you watched madrid last season with ozil who not only scores goals but makes brilliant passes and runs you will see madrid arent the same side, though isco is good but nowhere near a game changer or a star as ozil was to madrid and as important as iniesta. Neur, thiagosilva, hummels, lahm, alaba
Iniesta ribery scheweingster
Ibra messi and ronaldo
I must applaud fifa though because they finally removed pique who hasnt been what he used to be since 2011 but its still a suprise how ramos whose defense is just hilarious is there i mean the dudes red card tally and rash decisions is quite alot lol his not that bad of a defender but like pique not one deserving to be on this list. Then removing alves and exchanging for alaba would be good. Its also funny how the english league doesnt have any player here lol, guess its really the best league in the world. .__.
Yeah true, also iniesta only last chance and hope of winning the ballon d or would be for barca to win the double[league and cup] or treble[league, cup, ucl] and for spain to reclaim the worldcup then it would become even visible to the ignorant few out there that he deserves it but thats a long time from now lets see how the season progresses.Well, obviously, Ribery would have had a higher chance if he scored around 35-40 goals. With the recklessness that Bayern destroyed opposition, if Ribery tripled his score tally, then perhaps he wouldn't have needed to campaign for the Ballon D'Or! As for your stern defense of Iniesta, I respect it. But you know very well, that those points won't be as valid as mine, if we analyze from FIFA point-of-view. It's not that I like that charisma, stats or game-changing ability, are such crucial factors now. In fact, I hate it- but it's like that now! And unfortunately, despite all your admiration for Iniesta, you know, as well as me, that Iniesta will probably always remain lightyears away from having a credible chance of winning Ballon D'Or with CR7/Messi & Co. around.
For Ozil, I'm a big big fan of the player, but let's not only mention his outstanding strong point. He's also often inconsistent in certain matches.
The FIFA XI is an utter joke. I didn't even bother, looking at it, after last year's hilariously awful-lineup.
Okay, this year is a lil' better but still poor from many points. Dante should be there instead of Ramos. Same for Alaba instead of Alves. Schweinsteiger is an obvious choice instead of Xavi.
Now, about two debatable choices - Zlatan & Iniesta.
Iniesta had a good season in La Liga; though not his best one. On the contrary, Gundogan was key in Dortmund's exploits of last season. Same for Martinez in Bayern's winning squad. Robben & Muller also got similar very strong case and can easily postulate for that spot also. Just like Iniesta, Vidal also had a strong season in the league with Juve. Somehow, I may include one of them instead of Iniesta; though tight choice.
As for Ibra - he was amazing. But right now, for me, Suarez is the best No.9 in the world and Lewandowski, for all his mercenary morals, was also extraordinary with Dortmund. Perhaps, just for all the wonder goals that Ibra scored, I'd retain him, but again tough choice atleast for me.
