I think the RP just changed a lot,it's a hell lot more descriptive now but more restrictions on abilities and such.Old gen had little description,and a lot of power.

Some RP in 2012 was good too. But yeh, some old gen stuff is pretty good. I like the care free attitude that a lot of spars had then. Along with some epic show downs.

My favorite element is water. Water can just transform into anything besides liquid, it can transform into a gas or a solid. It can be used in multiple ways and is the element that can be added to almost all five of the elements. Water is also about life and how it can be molded into any shape. Let me stop before I get Kiyoshi on you and get into detail on water lol.

The old rp was more fun and the details didn't mean nothing. We all knew what we were talking about. Now some rpers are dumber(there are some of yall that are not dumb that can just use a one sentence and be good) so they need more details to understand what is going on lol.

Yeah its the most useful along with wind, but water its kind off restricted because not everywhere has a water source but air and earth are everywhere.

It was more laidback and carefree. Things didn't need to be as developed and technical as the rp of today. Our trainings were rather simple but at that time in the manga, we didn't have many nukes. We were able to just say things like "I make a clone and use rasengan and then the clone uses chidori" and it was okay. Now, due to how technical the RP has evolved (or devolved depending on your view) you'd have to explain how you run at them, which hand holds what, how the clone attacks, etc.
