The way I see things, Obito was the peak of power in the Naruto universe. Having found the origins of the sage, we can safely say that a Rinnegan user with control of the Juubi and access to both the weapons of the sage and the light and dark tech is truly the most powerful being in the Naruto world. This was Madara's personal goal and everything in the manga that relates to power eventually points to this outcome. Because of this, I feel that once Madara is defeated there is no way to go, but down. If more life is breathed into this manga, it will be a result of characters either personally limiting or giving up their powers. I feel that the most comfortable way for this manga to keep going is for power scaling to be dropped and more focus be given to the story and character development.
Now we can't expect Kishi to forcibly weaken his characters, but without a doubt, I feel he will commit to having one or more characters willingly give up some of their power. This is the answer to all the Naruto vs. Sasuke questions that we each have. How will Sasuke compete? How will the fight be even? It will be a result of downgrades. One option is that Naruto will free Kurama. Another is that Naruto will freely fight without using Kurama's power or by limiting himself to certain chakra forms. If you think about it, it would be well within Sasuke's character to not use EMS if Naruto were to give up Kurama, right? Either way you slice it, I feel the only way an even Naruto vs. Sasuke will happen is if Naruto suppresses his own power. Perhaps a fight of SM Naruto vs. 3 tomoe Sasuke may happen.
My point is that right now, there is really no going up. We cannot expect there to be new things discovered in terms of power, only discoveries in terms of character development and final bits of story. I think the final redemption of this story would be for mass power scaling to take a backseat and focus more on the characters and principles that this manga was built on rather than power. Kishi has told 90% of his story in terms of villians and secrets yet to be discovered. Wouldn't it be amazing if he pulled out all the stops, slowed down his manga and buried us in story and discoveries that don't rely solely on raw power? After this chapter, I have more hope for this manga then ever before. Kishi has set himself up to write an entirely different outcome than any of us expected. There is enough mysteries left unsolved and relationships yet completed that can lead to limitless possibilities. Make us proud Kishi
