the whole fight wasnt a genjutsu, it had to happen without being a genjutsu because you copy the bodily sensations in order for it to turn into a loop

Sage Mode is noticeably different per style.

DSM worked purely on the concept of becoming the perfect sensor and perfect evader. It also seemingly amplified the use of Kabuto's absorbed DNA. For all its worth, he was able to push back Itachi despite having said frail body.

Naruto's Frog Sage Mode amplified the overall power of techniques and made him a sensor (though not at a level Kabuto showed). He was trained with Frog Katamas which was a technique designed to specifically amplify Taijutsu.

Hashirama's Sage Mode seems to have done little more than amplify that of chakra and summonings.




That being said... to all the people claiming he was weak, lost to Itachi, or could have been killed earlier... I would disagree with those individuals, but considering the number of threads over it... I'll simply leave it at that.

Kabuto's go-to start off move is White Rage in character, so there are few shinobi that will resist that. Then it's just a matter of any of his Sage Art techs to two-shot.

Genjutsu is non-effective against Kabuto (bar Izanami)

Naruto gets soloed by White Rage in character.

Izanami is a unique genjutsu. Instead of operating as an instantaneous visual genjutsu, it is one that is made by memorizing the sensual experiences between one's self and one's opponent.

The sword stabbing Kabuto is point A. This means that this was the initiation point in which Itachi would begin to collect sensual data. He followed this up with points B and C. From what we can tell... it requires the recording and memorization of at least 3 points: A, B, C.

Once achieved, the User must force his opponent to bring about Point A': Which is a moment that very closely parallels the instance of Point A: Hence the second time he was stabbed, Itachi activated Izanami, and only then did his eye lose it's sight.


As a result, in order to establish an illusionary loop, A, B, C, and A' must be ACTUAL EVENTS that Itachi and Kabuto had to experience.

Incorrect, before Izanami was activated, Itachi relied on Sasuke.

1. To escape the Sound Genjutsu.

2. After being slashed in half, he needed Sasuke to prevent the Talisman from being re-written.

The second one guarantees victory for Kabuto. As such, the concept of being solo'd can no longer exist.

He wasn't trying to taijutsu either of them. He was trying to place a new contract formula in Itachi then capture Sasuke alive.

And if you really think about it neither Itachi nor Sasuke "beat" Kabuto. His own jutsu backfired.
