Why does Sakura have a fanbase?

I was going over past chapters and I realized that she's done nothing memorable in Part One. I mean, she let Sasuke go and let every other K11 member go get him and she didn't even bother? Damn.

Lee helped her when she went against the Sound genin and she just sat there with a kunai in her hand.

Shippuden:
She helped Chiyo take down Sasori. I think that's all.

So she has nothing going for her power-wise and takes top spot for 'which kunoichi is utterly useless/deserves to be in the kitchen (lol joke)'. Personality wise, how has she progressed? To this day, all she wants is Sasuke. So many questions started coming to mind after going through a brief review of her character.

Hey, at least Tsunade healed Shikamaru. I like Shikamaru.

I feel like people tend to overlook Sakura since she's a medical ninja so a lot of the things that she has done in the past have gone unnoticed. Also these past few chapters have shown that she's more than worthy of a fanbase but then again that's just my opinion =D

I really do hope she gets some depth to her character soon because it's a shame to see a main character have less character progression than most side characters.
