It is maybe more about how story and the "war" is going right now.I think it has to do more with Kishi's inability to kill ''important'' characters and his villains, not just Madara, are getting bashed for being luckster, they have lost that threatening nature they had.
examples
Orochimaru is ''good'' now.
Madara is playing around with Hashirama.
Obito, even as the Juubi's jin,is getting trolled from Kurama's haxxed cloaks. Lol
Open field. Everyone is on the place. Villains vs good guys; point blank. Kishi either wipe everyone or keep all alive; since if had been made other way; it look retarded like Neji's death. And this was Madara before Hashi came. Now he got worse.
That seems to sum it up.He's mediocre, tbh.
He's only relevant to this Arc. His goal is similar to Obito, but it's more justified than Obito's. After years of war, found a friend and had a dream. Couldn't be friends because they were on different sides of the war. Soon when the became the head of the family, they put aside their differences and created a village. He ran because the village didn't want him to be Hokage. The Uchiha Clan didn't trust him. Thus, making him believe he couldn't keep his little brother's promise and protect the Uchiha.
How Kishi is portraying Madara is a guy who enjoys fighting strong people.(Hashirama) We know Obito hate reality, but with Madara it's hard to tell. So it's like... why the hell do you want the Moon's Eye Plan?
