Oh we all know Kisame is a highly skilled shinobi but I wouldn't die by his hand nor blade.
I'll see if I can find it.. if I was right but I think it was in part 1 where they were talking about Jiraiya. Kisame said Itachi can stand up to Jiraiya while he probably couldn't so he admits Itachi is the better fighter than him.. not only that but Itachi seems to be the one who gives the orders between the two.
Umm yeah because thats what I totally said right?
umm no... Itachi was the one talking about Jiraiya.... lmao. Both take the orders from Pain. =] . Itachi simply knows how to handle Kisame.
Kisame almost outright stated that Itachi is a tier above him and he is no match for him..
Where? Lol
Check first page, people already posted scans...
Kisame states he doesn't believe he can take on "Jiraya", he's out of his league.. then goes on to tell Itachi that he might have a chance.. that alone means Kisame believes that Itachi is on a different tier to him...
Not to mention when Jiraya appears and they are fleeing, Kisame turns and asks Itachi why is retreat necessary for HIM
Kisame said Jiraiya is out of his league back in part one, but feats say otherwise.. It's all about match-ups, and Kisame is fully capable of fighting on par with Itachi, despite Itachi being the superior.
And Itachi doesn't end him with 1 Tsukyomi?
Alot of people understand how visual genjutsu works and STILL made eye contact in this manga...How does that prove that Kisame will? that he has training in eye contact less kenjutsu? Isn't kisame like .5 intelligence higher than naruto? there are Many smarter people who still make eye contact..but Kisame understands how Itachi's visual genjutsu works, and knows not to look into his eyes
Kisame will be able to withstand the physical and mental trauma caused by Tsukiyomi; given his mental stability and will-power.
"Why is it a nessecary retreat for you..." MAybe because Itachi was the one running away... So it is a simple question, why it nessecary for him? Did Kisame talk about him having a hard time? no...Kisame almost outright stated that Itachi is a tier above him and he is no match for him..

It is far fetched... and ridiculous imo, If 3 days was enough to put a grown man like Kakashi out cold for the unforeseeable future, Regardless of how much will Kisame has, Itachi would need only raise the amount of torture to suit it
You give Kisame so much praise when he himself thought that no one could survive Tsukyomi's torture....
Still quite different in Kisames case. He has witnessed multiple times of the means Itachi takes in drawing eye contact with his opponent unlike Kakashi who initially thought could break through it Bee who seemed to have no idea, and so on.
Kisame is no idiot either. He was able to deduce Bee's tactics within a split second, and counter accordingly.
He can also deploy Mizu Bunshins to make it a lot less likely of getting hit by it, as Kakashi did.
And I don't believe Kisames approach to Itachi with a MS activated would be to engage him CQC, considering he fully knows first hand of Itachis lethality.
Well, Kisame undoubtedly can withstand more mental and physical trama then Kakashi, considering he was willing to bite off his toungue and feed himself to sharks in sake of intel; as well as breaking out of a chakra suppressing wooden restraint despite being physically worned out, but I suppose raising the amount of torture is something itachi COULD do..
Then that only makes it more feesible that Kisame would go straight for his trump card, that being the Water Dome, which Itachi has no counter for.
Kisame has alluded to Itachi's superiority on several occasions during the Manga. This is but one instance:

Furthermore, throughout Itachi and Kisame's invasion of Konoha, the former was subjugating the latter entirely; instructing him when to attack; who to attack; and precisely when to retreat. Are you ignoring Itachi and Kisame's portrayal? Or, merely interpreting it subjectively, relative to this thread's purpose?
Kisame is getting a tad overrated... He is capable f fighting Itachi on equals terms; but he loses six out of ten times thanks to either a Tsukiyomi slowing him down severely or Itachi's infamous subtle genjutsu catching Kisame off guard durin the fight.
