how come rayleigh didn't go to save ace on the war, come on the son of his captain??
and how comes shanks didn't know that ace is the son of his captain

Probably because he didn't want his son to be raised by a pirate who other pirates and marines would probably attack. Since Garp was a Marine (hero of the marines might I add) the marines wouldn't have suspected Garp to raise Roger's child, allowing Ace to grow up safely and without worry.

Rayleigh might have not known that Ace was Roger's son until it was announced to everyone. It seemed that most people were unaware that Roger had a son which is why Ace has flashbacks asking other people what if the Pirate King had a son. If Rayleigh didn't know, I doubt Shanks was aware as well.

The Pirate King was probably an idiot as well, there seems to be a few parallels between him and Luffy.

Cuz Rayleigh was probably in hiding at that point. They probably couldn't communicate at all. Garp came to roger in his cell, and roger decided he had to trust garp cuz here was really no one else. As for Rayleigh and the war of the best, Rayleigh was busy on sabaody probably helping kuma take care of thousand sunny. I have no answer for shanks on this part

Uhm roger didnt get to see rayleigh cuz he was in prison.. Well he could've told it to rayleigh before getting captured.. Maybe he found out he was gonna have a kid when he was in prison? Hmm maybe its because of the fact that garp is a marine and rayleigh a pirate?

Why he didnt save ace.. Hmm all i could come up with would be because his era was over xD or maybe Rayleigh never knew ace was rogers son? He might have found out when he was watching it on the big screen. Maybe roger never told rayleigh cuz he wanted to be sure? Since ace hated Roger he rayleigh didnt feel like he should interfere

And yes roger is a idiot, but Luffy far outclasses roger in stupidity LOL

garp had the power to save ace without haveing to fight off a crap load of marines like rayleigh would probaly have to, aslo since garp is a marine he had inside info onhow to find ace, he also was able to give ace a safe place to grow up, and because garp wasnt considered just an enemy by roger, over all the years of fighting they had a mutual respect,

maybe rayleigh didnt save ace becausse he wasnt a pirate anymmore, or he just didnt know because of how secretive roger had to be about his son, and shanks didnt know ace was the son of roger because rogers son was a huge secret other wise ace wouldve been chased and killed alot sooner

Roger wanted Ace to live a life without piracy and without anyone knowing him being born to the pirate king. Him and Garp obviously had a bond and he could pretty much see through him. Just like how we know that Smoker wouldn't actually kill Luffy. Roger knew that Garp wouldn't just toss Ace away.

If i had a son and didn't want him to be known as my son or as a pirate i would rather give him to a marine that i can trust instead of a pirate/ex-pirate.

It wasn't his battle. He's a pirate and knows what the life of a pirate is like. Ace isn't Rayleigh's nakama and Rayleigh has no emotional attachments to him. Ace was a Whitebeard pirate and as a Whitebeard pirate it was his crews task to save him. Knowing all this why would Rayleigh save Ace? not really his job.

Even Zoro wouldn't go there to save Ace. Unless Luffy directly asked him to come with him he wouldn't do it. He has no obligation to do so.

If Marco was the one who was captured by the marines Luffy wouldn't go.

Roger never told anyone. He didn't want Ace to be affiliated with pirates in any way. Not to mention the fact that Ace told Shanks he was Luffy's older brother would further confuse him.
