Your comparing it wrong. This is how it goes. Let's say my friends name is Roger and his son is Ace.
Roger was my friend but he's long gone. His son is in the Mafia. He has his own mafia family that has his back. I'm an old man who used to be in the mafia and i know the life of mafia and how everything works. I retired from the mafia and am trying to keep a low profile.
I don't even know that my friend had a son. So i see in the news that a kid i just met named Luffy went to save someone named Ace. Ace has a mafia family and they're also going there to save him and they show up. Keep in mind that i don't even know that Roger had a son.
So i read from the news that Ace's mafia family is there to rescue him and so is his brother Luffy who i just met. Now knowing the life of a mafia and what comes with it what would i do? Go to save a stranger i don't even know who has a mafia family already covering his back? (I already know who Whitebeard is as he was my friends rival and i know what kind of a man Whitebeard is) he's the type of guy who never let's a nakama fall. Would i go and save that stranger? No. I would not.
Also, Rayleigh already knows the burden of being a pirate.
