Since only senjutsu/natural energy would affect Obito/Juubi would Sasuke's Kirin work on him?
he has rinnegan, right? So he can in fact absorb the technique if I'm right.

I swear there are like 50 threads about how Kirin can damage obito, yet no one has realised it's classed as a ninjutsu in the 3rd data book, page 247. It makes sense that its ninjutsu considering sasuke uses his chakra to direct the lightning but never actually takes it in. Here's how the the wiki explains senjutsu ( I know anyone can edit it but its actually a good canon explanation):
Senjutsu practitioners learn to draw the energy of nature inside of them, blending it with their own chakra (created from spiritual and physical energy within the shinobi). This adds a new dimension of power to the sage's chakra, resulting in the creation of "senjutsu chakra" (仙術チャクラ, senjutsu chakura).
So because sasuke isn't blending his spiritual and physical energy with the lightning it isn't forming the new senjutsu type chakra and not creating senjutsu - therefore it can't hurt obito. If anything it's most similiar to a nature transformation ninjutsu only difference being sasuke didn't transform his own chakra into lightning (instead uses the lightning already present).
Copy and paste-no-jutsu from another thread on this topic
Basically it comes down to the fact that Sasuke's kirin technique doesn't originate from senjutsu chakra. He doesn't draw nature energy in and combine it with his physical and spiritual energy. Kirin isn't even derived from Sasuke's own chakra let alone derived from senjutsu chakra. The main point being that
- nature energy+ spiritual energy + physical energy = senjutsu chakra BUT
- nature energy + guiding chakra =/= senjutsu chakra
Make sense? This is why Kishi classes Kirin as a ninjutsu technique.
But ninjutsu is physical energy + spiritual energy(=chakra). Kirin should be nature energy. I wouldn't call it senjutsu, because it's like you said, senjutsu is regular chakra(physical + spiritual energy) + nature energy. But obito's onmyyouden "cancels" every ninjutsu. Perhaps nature energy alone could do something do him, right? I mean, it is nature energy that makes the difference in senjutsu, so maybe it could damage him.
I'm not sure it works like that, but then again noone but kishi really knows. Using senjutsu increases the users physical abilities and techniques immensely just by having it inside you. Clearly when you combine the necassary parts to form senjutsu chakra it gives rise to something on another level to normal chakra.
Take KKG for instance, specifically mokuton (since its a good example). Its formed from combining water and earth right. But wood release is something completely different to water and earth release jutsu. You couldn't just fire water and earth jutsu's simultaneously and expect them to work the same as mokuton. Whilst mokuton is a combination of water and earth affinities it is also something completely different and on another level.
The point being that even if you had the necessary components of a senjutsu it still wouldn't work the same. This is because it lacks the perfect balancing of chakra's which is what gives rise to senjutsu chakra in the first place.
I agree. It's like fusion in dbz, or mixing elements in chemestry. But either way, as far as we know, onmyyouden "cancels" ninjutsu, so we can't know how pure nature energy would work on obito, considering that kirin isn't made like regular ninjutsu. For now, we wait.
Agreed. But since it is all up in the air, I'd rather follow Kishi's databook which classes it as ninjutsu and thus in affective against Obito. But thats just me....=D
