[Discussion] The Soul King.

Anyone have any idea what this guy may be? or how he came into existence? Did he have any predecessors? Just spitballing ideas, looking for other's opinions.

I used to think that he was a being like ichigo comprised of a little bit of everything, but now, i think that's highly unlikely.

I've been curious about him ever since he was introduced. My theory is that Ichigo is going to replace him as Soul King once the fight with the Quincies is over with. Ichigo has a little bit of every type of soul inside of him so it'd make sense in a way.

Azien was probably doing everything he did for good. When you think about it, it kindof makes sense. Also at the end of ichigo vs azien, when he's defeated, he talks to urahara and says like why he doesn't use his potential like he did, like aizen did, and stop that thing (referring to the spirit king), then urahara says the spirit king doesn't exist etc. and denies it.

Urahara didn't deny it's existence. he said that soul society would crumble without the soul king.

I read that chapter yesterday, and i was like, will he be stronger than ichigo after dangai training, because aizen was confident that he could defeat it and ichigo > aizen

yea, you're right. most likely because it's a godlike entity. i only said he because it looks masculine. but it's shrouded in so much mystery, i wouldn't trust it either.

i like this idea. maybe he is the progenitor of shinigami.

Of course he had predecessors! I think he's pretty villainous so he may be a way to extend the series so that Kubo can make yet more ass-pulls. If that is true Aizen was good!
