You say irrelevant arguements yet the wii has the worst graphics of all 3 and yet has the best sales because of it being diverse and the inginuity behind the ''get fit'' idea they are implementing and with the target marketing that they have aimed it at,mainly family orientated, kids, older people, and people looking to get fit i.e. heavier people.
Which doesn't relate to the subject at all.
PS3 did have issues as mentioned with the 40gb system which they stopped making, people go on about the ring of death blah blah blah but we have the xbox elite which doesn't really have that problem.Just like PS3 they both have upgraded the software to stop the problems.
If you're referring to the Blu-Ray reader problem, a faulty Blu-Ray diode doesn't compare to molten solders.
Whats the point in having the hardware if they aren't going to use it? Microsoft have thought smart, its a business plan just like with mobile phones, they had the technology for the iphone years before they actually released it but what they will do is give you slight modifications and upping the price of the console/phone so that they can make a profit.
Er... Have you ever heard of the term
'Future Proof'? The PS3 is capable of delivering much more performance than the XBox 360 without trouble. In fact, games designed for the XBox 360 makes solders on the motherboard melt, causing the RROD. The PS3 however, has no trouble being used as a supercomputer without coming anywhere near as warm as the XBox 360. This means that the PS3 is future proof and that Sony won't have to release a new console as quickly as Microsoft. Quality goes over Quantity.
IMO sony have shot themselves in the foot really,as they won't get as much profit and won't leave room for improvement on the next console.
They don't
have to, nothing requires them to make something better already, thus making the PS3 future proof.
Think about it they have all this 'superior' software already that they don't use so they have lost out if they don't use it,so would be pointless making a new console but just upgrading the gamer software to match the capabilities of the console.
I take you are referring to 'Hardware'? They have brought a completely superior console on the market, that actually gives them advantages:
- Game developers can spend more time on high end games, whereas Microsoft first has to release one or two more consoles till they reach the same amount of performance
and their waiting line has yet to start, while Sony is already having games in development that puts their console to the test.
- Professional scientific organizations can buy arrays of PS3 hardware to use as their main processing units. Sony delivers them the necessary software (which brings in additional money as well), making their console look extra good on the commercial market.
- They have invested in Blu-Ray, which is more expensive, but with more success. Microsoft has failed investing into HD-DVD as it can't compete to Blu-Ray's standard of 54GB space.
- They have included other expensive modules such as a wireless connection, making people able to stream media to their television, rendering regular multimedia computers unnecessary.
- Backwards compatibility is superior to the XBox 360 as well.
(Which in the time its been out they really haven't done) Whereas the xbox has taken wiser approach in using the capabilities of the console and being cost effective.Business=supply and demand if its cheaper to make and sells well means more profit i.e. wii and xbox 360 (internationally).
It seems that you are only aware of a single marketing technique, which Microsoft and Nintendo currently happen to apply, but there's more to commercial marketing you know.
All in all to summarise xbox will crap on sony once the new console comes out as the game designers for xbox make full use of the capabilities of the console and are more diverse than that associated with sony this shows in games available for them.Unless sony pick up their game plan in making more/and better games then xbox natal will demolish it.
Sony doesn't make games at all, you're misinformed. And NATAL will cost a fortune if they're going to do something as iris identification on such a distance, it would require a very high resolution camera. So they either overrated their own product, or the controller be at least as expensive as twice an Xbox 360. I know my hardware, and I know that camera modules like that aren't anywhere near cheap.
