To me, it's not about capabilities of women. I was in a the Marine Corps. And had two different jobs. I was an 0311 (an all male unit), then later on down the road, I went into comms (not gender restricted). It's not about abilities, I seen women that can run me into the ground and be more physically fit then most. And women are serving in combat roles now. But to serve in an infantry rifle platoon. No. Again, it's not about are women capable, I believe there are women more than capable, but it's about logistics and unit cohesion.
Logistics, two heads (naval terminology for bathroom). Different living quarters when normally deployed. Which brings up unit cohesion. In a infantry rifle platoon, there won't be any unit cohesion do to the separation of quarters. It's a close knit unit in the grunts. Live together, work together, eat together, things that I didn't see when I transferred to a unit that wasn't gender restricted.
