Alright. But can you make a manga (=manga that doesn't suck) from scratch?

The majority of people say that's what ruined the war in the first place.

I think kishi's story changed due to time constraints, I pretty sure he had bigger things planned, and more fights, but didn't want to drag his story out too long, so that's why some amazing fights that were set up never happened, such as kakashi's rampage and stuff.

But seriously, I don't know. Naruto really got the emotional strings. I'd sure as hell do a war better if my series called for a war though, which I doubt it would. I really would do what I said above. Mine would be romance, some action, some comedy and it'd focus on insanity with atleast some villain or hero. I'd go into a character's psyche.

But if I tried to make one they story would be crap. I would probably try to pull random tidbits from just about everywhere.

I would probably try to keep the powers kinda like FMA. Not to crazy but interesting powers. Art style more kin to Soul Eater than anything, with a little bit more background details. I would try and have like 2 main characters but many supporting characters who are important to the story, Fairy Tail like but without the Nakama powerups. Probably pull references by Greek/Roman/Norse mythology quite a bit also.

Try and make the story as interesting as possible, but not to deep. One central bad guy introduced early with some minor Villians.

Overall, it would probably suck. :NO:

I can totally draw my own manga thank you very much and yes I would be better Kishi at writing cause I would know how to use characters instead of making them as plot devices all the time.

i doubt it it may take me years of practicing writing mangas
but naruto has too many japanese mythology and other influences from other mangas made into it's own original story for me to just write a manga as good as this right off the bat

I believe everyone in this thread could potentially create a better manga than Naruto with practice, but not by simply having an illustrator like the OP said or simply because they have good drawing skills like you.

If you had a really talented person to do manga illustrations for you....

....could you write a better action packed story than Kishimoto could, or a story just as good?

Because they want money. Just look at Death Note, it has someone who wrote the story and someone else that drew it.

Lol, it's easy to sit here and talk about making a better manga. I'm sure Kishimoto did and would have said the same thing before he started making Naruto. Once you actually start doing it and you learn of the limitations caused by a boatload of various factors, including the sort of time that you have and releasing an issue weekly and making preliminary decisions that you just can't follow through because they're not practical, you would realise just how truly difficult it is to make a manga/anime anywhere near as good as Naruto let alone better. If just any Tom, **** and Harry could make good manga/anime, half the world would have by now.

Some how...I think my manga would be considered the most trolling manga in the world...because I know I would want to create a villain like Tobi...who no one knows the real identity of...but i'd give the tiniest hints in certain chapters until the big reveal..by that time, everyone would have thought it was some random ninja who has no relevance to the plot.

This. In my day, I've heard lots of people with lots of ideas they think are good and impressive cos it sounds so awesome to them, then they face a harsh reality when they really spell out those ideas to other people and they don't find it impressive. A lot of commenters have said that they would make their manga like this, like that, and like that (more badass, better characters, etc...) without actually saying how or what exactly they would do. If everyone began explaining just a little bit about how they would go about doing this and made a poll asking Naruto or manga/anime fans if this would be something they would read/watch/enjoy more than Naruto when they consider all the different factors that go into making Naruto, the majority of ideas would get turned down. That's why Literary Agents get tonnes of proposed ideas and manuscripts every year and only pick a very selective handful.
