This. In my day, I've heard lots of people with lots of ideas they think are good and impressive cos it sounds so awesome to them, then they face a harsh reality when they really spell out those ideas to other people and they don't find it impressive. A lot of commenters have said that they would make their manga like this, like that, and like that (more badass, better characters, etc...) without actually saying how or what exactly they would do. If everyone began explaining just a little bit about how they would go about doing this and made a poll asking Naruto or manga/anime fans if this would be something they would read/watch/enjoy more than Naruto when they consider all the different factors that go into making Naruto, the majority of ideas would get turned down. That's why Literary Agents get tonnes of proposed ideas and manuscripts every year and only pick a very selective handful.

I don't think so, and you know even the negatives of the manga probably aren't his fault, like this war arc was rushed because of editors and stuff

People say so much 'I can make a better manga/story than Kishi' but first, prove it then. To make a manga is not easy. Every page would take (I think) about one week? Or maybe a little less. Bur all the shadows, the effects, the drawings, the black/grey and white colors...That's not simple.

There could be not too difficult to create interesting story and make fans interested in our story as many before me said already.
However the really art and challenge could be keeping our fans interested in our story and have strength, energy to do that in regular time, frequently.
It is much easier to create few interesting chapters but it is really hard to create very interesting story made of hundreds of chapters, that what I think

that why I keep great respect for Kishi even if his manga isn't thrilling too much anymore =D

I doubt many of us could be able to keep story interesting and won't be lazy sometimes
