U put a lot of work into this. And considering naruto's speech in the current chapter(628) pulled lines directly from hinata's speech to pein. That's just proving your point even more. I wonder if kishi takes the time out to think about all of this or he just does it subconsciously...... I feel like its the latter and not the former.

Very well written! I don't normally comment on threads, but I absolutely had to on this one :)

I'd like to thank everyone for their support. It's nice to hear feedback.

I didn't read, but did you mean that they'll have *** ?

Well... if the Hyuuga are to follow Taoism to the letter... then there were Taoist teachings for how to achieve the most out of one's *** life. So Hinata might be quite the surprise behind closed doors.

But my post was more about the thematic relationship between Naruto and Hinata as Yang and Yin, respectively.

Though I can't imagine why you wouldn't read this if you thought it had to do with ***. Lemons are all the rage, now, aren't they?

Honestly, I don't have a clue what you're talking about... so I have to say that I am not at all familiar with their work.

Should I?

They are archetypes of the unconscious mind, the feminine Anima in the male and the masculine Animus in the female, that is how I see Naruto and Hinata's relationship. :)

Sakura's chakra is, in all probability, Yin. So.

Her seal = variation on the Yin Seal.

You need to do a little bit of study:

To quote:

"Yang is the white side with the black dot on it, and yin is the black side with the white dot on it. The relationship between yin and yang is often described in terms of sunlight playing over a mountain and a valley. Yin (literally the 'shady place' or 'north slope') is the dark area occluded by the mountain's bulk, while yang (literally the 'sunny place' or 'south slope') is the brightly lit portion. As the sun moves across the sky, yin and yang gradually trade places with each other, revealing what was obscured and obscuring what was revealed.

Yin is characterized as slow, soft, yielding, diffuse, cold, wet, and passive; and is associated with water, earth, the moon, femininity and nighttime.

Yang, by contrast, is fast, hard, solid, focused, hot, dry, and aggressive; and is associated with fire, sky, the sun, masculinity and daytime.[5]
"

It's not "chakra types."

It's character attributes. Hinata is almost exclusively Yin in the beginning (though Taoist philosophy holds that nothing is so entirely itself that it contains nothing of its opposite - Even the rawest expression of Yin contains some Yang, and vice-versa); Naruto is almost exclusively Yang.

Yet - it is in the nature of the two to change each other and give rise to growth and events. It's the interplay of Yin and Yang that create the world.

You'll see in time. It was Hinata's destiny to stand at Naruto's side - just as it was Neji's destiny to defend the head branch ... and it's that particular member of the Head branch who will play yet another pivotal role in developing the next Sage of Six Paths. Just as it was in the past.

Still not convinced?

Concept art for Naruto, before the series was green-lit by the publisher.

I do believe this predates even the release of the Naruto pilot series (though that was probably drafted by Kishimoto well before negotiations with the publisher began).

Why didn't I include that to begin with? I didn't know about it.

Yet, I predicted that Kishimoto would have designed Naruto and Hinata as a pair, rather than as two completely separate entities - and here we have fairly strong evidence of just that.

I also predicted a stronger role for Hinata - and, where -teams- get a couple pages ... Hinata gets a whole two and a half pages dedicated specifically to her. In that time - we see yet another Yin-Yang interaction... Hinata is about to submit to her inability to use the 64 palms (because she is not being confident) ... then gains confidence from the interaction we saw back in 615 and pushes through.

Which is exactly what is predicted under this model of character interaction.

Within the next ten chapters, there will be another "Naruhina" moment, provided we don't get random-ass flashbacks. Maybe 15. It can be a little difficult to predict plot movement across chapters. Though the next chapter will likely cut away to Obito and Kakashi.

I'm flattered you wrote a book for me but the point stands. Your wikipedia article about Taoism really doesn't prove anything in the context I'm presenting.

Sakura has a variant of Yin Seal/Release.

Naruto uses Yang in Kyuubi Mode.

Literal embodiments of Yin and Yang.

What effect that has on what you've said I'll let you decide.

By that same logic, Sasuke's Sharingan is noted as being more of a Yin style technique (along with the Genjutsu it enables). NaruSasu Yaoi must be destined.

None.

The Yin seal is not a Yin expression. It is called a Yin seal because it requires self-suppression and/or passiveness. Releasing it is actually a Yang expression - a huge burst of speed, power, and aggressiveness.

Further - it has absolutely zero relevance to character theming aside from linking Sakura to the Senju and by proxy to the Uzumaki (which puts her on the Yang side of things).

The Byakugan and Sharingan are both more Yin expressions by virtue. However, the Hyuuga and Uzumaki are almost certain, at present, to predate the Sage in lineage. The Uzumaki and the Hyuuga represent the Yin and Yang relationship that was later tainted and cursed to hatred in the offshoot Senju and Uchiha lineages. While the Senju and Uchiha represent a conflicted relationship - the Hyuuga and Uzumaki represent a harmonious and peaceful relationship.

But, it's okay - you can think what you will. Time will prove me correct. As it most often does.

You're attempting to make a parallel.

This parallel will end much like the Kushina one did - assuming it happens at all.

We will have to agree to disagree.

He was trying to make an analysis based on real world Taoist principles, not Narutoverse factors. Also Amin was considering only the personality of Naruto or Hinata not the techniques or jutsu they use.

Hinata wasn't even created at chapter 3 that's why she wasn't introducted then when others were, and that's why anime team introduced her when in manga that didn't happen. Editors said that they need more support characters that's when he created Hinata. Sasuke and Sakura were the first ones suggested, Sasuke - Rival, Sakura - love interest. And Kishimoto uses "Jiraiya Goketsu Monogatari" as an inspiration for series.
Written by someone in other forums:
Tsunade and Jiraiya were of course married in the legend and theatre play while Yashagoro/Orochimaru is very often depicted as their student who betrayed them (ironically a motif that appears all over the entire Naruto story). Kishimoto certainly can’t present SasuxSaku as the end game pairing without ruining the entire legend.
I do think that NaruxSaku was intended when Kishimoto decided to include a rival character with Sasuke and turned them into the Neo-Sannin.

Orochimaru who kidnapped a princess in the original story managed to poison Jiraiya and Tsunade. However a bird/tengu summoner called Rikimatsu who was Jiraiya’s page apparently healed them. They managed to beat Orochimaru and then Jiraiya was made daimyo of Izu (today it’s Shizuoka). Jiraiya and Tsunade live happily ever after with kids.

In another version Jiraiya is poisoned by Orochimaru and is saved by Tsunade who takes him to heal in a therapeutic bath. However he doesn’t recover since he needs the blood of a woman born in the Year of the snake the month of the snake and the hour of the snake.
He then meets his sister called Ayame who fit that criteria.

In this story Jiraiya can morph to Toad, Tsunade- slug, Orchimaru- snake.

And Sakura uses Yin too.
